New Colors in SU Catalog?
I just heard that SU will be introducing 12 new colors in the July catalog!!
Has anyone else heard that? Does that mean we will have a 5th color group: Bold Brights, Soft Subtles, Earth Elements, Rich Regals, and ??
If you have heard this as well, please enlighten me! I think it would be great to have more colors to choose from as long as they are significantly different than the ones we have already.
Anybody heard about this as well?

I heard it from a friend of mine on the east coast. She heard it as a rumor too and we are just trying to clarify it.

omg I hope you heard right! I was just stamping and telling my sister they need a lighter orange to go along with colors like gable green and positively pink... and it got me thinking about a thread about a "fruity" color family. I thought an "orange sherbet" would be nice. ANYWAY.. I hope you're right..and I hope they're really awesome! TWO more weeks!

OMG! This is one of my secret fantasies! I would *LOVE* some new colors to play with. I agree that a fruity-based color family would be terrific.... a nice 'tangerine' and maybe a 'blueberry' and 'grape'. YUM! Oooh, and a 'pomegranate' and 'mango'. OOohhhhhh!
Dang these next two weeks are going to be pure torture!

I totally agree that would be great! I've always wanted a paler blue and pink and a true purple! Oh, I would be so excited!
Now that's it's actually July, I am getting even more excited about the catalog release!!!

Did I hear that CTMH came out with new colors? Could that be where the rumor is coming from? I've never heard of any rumors that have actually come to fruition about SU before the release of the catty, so I am quite skeptical.

 I'm thinking that the rumor originated right here on this site! I hope it's true, but you know how things get started with no basis in fact! SU! would be wise to listen to their customers and introduce a new family of colors. Millions of colors out there...and we only get to play with 48!!! :? No fair!

I totally argee! Especially with the orange. There has been more than one occasion I wished they had a lighter color of orange. The last time I was stamping with my Fishy Friends I was needing an orange more like a melon color. I guess we'll find out in a couple of weeks just what SU has in store for us!

I would LOVE 12 new colors!! Especially a peach. We really really need a peach!! Nice peach pastel, similar to the Colorbox Chalk pink pastel.
But of course I'd need to buy a lot more ink pads and cardstock! I have 36 of the 48 inkpads now!

CTMH
Yes, Ctmh did come out with some new colors. I think they took some of the old ones away.
I do like their colors.
I hope for a true purple, and a perriwinkle!

I hope it's true but I'd be surprised if the rumor it is. Very little ever gets "leaked" out before convention, so I'm guessing it's just a rumor that everyone is hoping comes to life. That being said - can't agree more about needing a few new colors.

Hi all! This my first post as a new member. I've been lurking and enjoying all the conversations and thought it was about time I join in. I've been a SU demo for 11 months. I really do love the products and current colors. More colors would be great! I'm very excited for convention! I live just east of Orlando so it is just a hop, skip, and jump away.

Wouldn't that be a dream come true?! We are lacking the the yellow and orange department...I've been wanting some bright color that was somewhere in between Banana and Yo-Yo...one can be too light while the other is too bright!
But it doesn't seem likely...with so many colors to overwhelm the newbies...I just can't see it. I think they worked hard to narrow down those 48.
I can't wait...

Wow I hate to burst everyones bubble...
I recently had to call in to demo Support for another topic, but had also heard this rumor and asked the rep I talked to. She laughed a little and said I was the 3rd that day to ask and she said that even though they don't yet know much about the new catalog, they all have been informed that there are not new colors coming out. I too was hopeful for an in between brights and subtles set, but oh well.

I guess I'm feeling like we have a very complete complement of ink colors. If I want a lighter shade, of orange for instance, I can use fading, or stamp off the first image on scratch paper to get the lighter shade. My customers get so frustrated with trying to select colors from 48.... especially when on a tight budget!
Just my 2 worth

Yep
I have an email where they say the same thing ~ no new colors. I don't know if they are waiting to WOW everyone at convention or if they really aren't planning on any new colors. I, honestly, hope they do not add new colors. I like what they have now, I'm just learning to work well with the colors we have and using colors I always avoided. I don't mind no new colors. Not to mention ~ I can't afford a whole new color group.

Well...we can STILL dream! Just look at Crayola! As a kid (and now, a teacher who is still constantly coloring) I NEVER had a problem choosing from cornflower blue, dandelion (love that one) violet red, etc.! Bring 'em on!

Guess I'm a little bit disappointed and relieved at the same time. I'd love to have more in-between colors, but I just managed to complete my set of ink pads earlier this year!

I would like a few more colors but I am still working on getting all the ink pads 1/2 way there and the craft inks a long way to go...only have 4 right now. I am also working on getting solid packs of all the colors. Wait until I am set before adding more colors! lol

Not to be a party pooper but I saw in one of the future CK's(August I believe) the phrase "Stampin' Ups 48 colors". I would love more colors I would especially love another metallic Copper.
I still love our colors best! But you can never have too much of a good thing.

Just a thought, but just because SU isn't adding to their Classic or Craft line doesn't mean they might not carry another type of ink pad. We do carry the Encore metallic and at one point the Colorbox. So who knows, maybe they could add new ink pads that way?

Oh, now you've got me excited all over again! There are some BEAUTIFUL pads that I saw at Stampfest this winter, like chalks in ink. I think they were by Brilliance. But I couldn't justify getting any, I have less than half the colors in the new pads, I still have the old ones for most and have to do those. I did buy eight of the Encore Metallics, though, even though we only carry four now

new colors...
Here's my 2 cents...I always thought we could a true periwinkle blue and a true peach. I never thought of the purple thing, though. Boy, 12 colors, huh? Wouldn't that be nice?
2 more weeks! Can't wait!

Perhaps this is how the rumor got started... This is what is listed as "NEW" in the new demo starter kit:
"Additions to the starter kit include:
 Craft & Rubber scissors
 Stampin Mist and Stampin Scrub
An additional assortment of 8-1/2" x 11" colored card stock
One set of Inspiration Sheets (Fresh Flowers)"
maybe someone saw the additional assortment of cs and jumped to a conclusion.
hugs & cardstock,
Lori

Mel, it was hard enough for me to get all the classic pads -- I don't think I can afford to get the craft ones, too! I don't scrapbook, and I'd much rather put my limited funds into more stamp sets!

My goal is to get them all by this time next yr. Depends of course on how my bus. goes. I cleared off my cc so I can get busy once the new catty comes out. I already have pads and paper ready to go. Just need to add a few new stamp sets and then pick out my freebies. I will most like order more cs or ink pads for my freebies. $15 can buy at least 2 pads ya know. lol
I do scrapbook so I am really working on getting the craft pads. I had considered getting the color spots but I have so many colors from each group that I might as well get the pads. Too bad we can't get the craft pads in the color spots. lol That would be awesome!
