Default Nesties Ovals Lg -vs- SU Ovals Collection

Hello stamping friends. Do any of you know how Nestabilities Ovals Large dies compare in size to Stampin Up's Ovals Collection? I find that the sizes of my Nesties aren't always very useful. But I don't want to order the SU Ovals if they are the exact same size.

I need better nesting ovals!! Help

Thanks!
Kim

I have both kinds. The SU ones are longer and narrower in the smaller sizes and similar proportions in the larger sizes, but they go a couple sizes larger than the largest oval of spellbinders.

Do you want some pictures? I can take some if you want them.

Thanks so much. Pics would be great if you don't mind and it's not too much trouble. Thank you!!!

Here's the dies themselves (sorry I forgot to label the SU ones!) laid out in comparison sizes. The actual size of each die is with each one. You'll see that one of the SU dies is really close to one of the spellbinders ones. But they definitely vary in shape and proportion!

Diane-- arent you just so sweet! Thank you so much! This is SOOOO tremendously helpful to actually see them in comparison. I'm going to go ahead and get the SU dies. I think they will round out my collection nicely. Thanks again for taking the time to do this for me.

I must admit oval dies really do my head in! I mean, circles and squares are standard, but ovals? You have long, thin ovals, or squatter, fatter ovals, and you never ever have the exact one you need for your project! I've given up with the dies now, and cut them on my Silhouette. They aren't embossed, but I can live with that.

Glad to do it! Besides, I have that picture "forever" now!

And I was just thinking that would be a great way to create an index of all the dies that I have. Lay them out, photograph, and print the pictures. Having an actual size in an inventory index wouldn't be absolutely necessary.

I'm the same way. I have a few nesties, but gave up when I saw how many I'd have to buy to get all the various sizes when I have my CraftRobo (and now Zing). So, I too just cut the shapes with my machine. You can get that embossed look as well. I just cut another one 1/8" smaller and then centre it behind the one I want to use and go around the edge with a stylus. Gives it that embossed look.

Cat_womwn, I can't believe I haven't thought to do that with them. Especially as I did exactly that to get the embossed edge when I bought some Sizzix framelit circles!
