Default Neglecting your stamps???

Do y'all ever get a feeling like you are being disloyal to your stamps, but using other stamps? LOL. Not from a I represent this company standpoint... but from a I have so very many of these, and I LOVE them and haven't used them in a while.

I have been stamping like crazy lately, LOL, but I still feel like I am neglecting some of my babies by not stamping fast enough and getting enough done.

Anyone else ever feel that way?

I've been neglecting my "hard" stamps a lot lately since I've been using digis a lot. I have a pile I need to index and put into my binders. Lately, that's about the only time they see ink for a very long time...

Guilty, lol. I too have gone over to digis. I'm loving Meljens simple uncluttered designs at the moment. My "real" stamps hardly ever get inked these days. They take up so much storage though and you can print sheets of digis with no smudges and uninked bits. I can't see myself converting back so yes, guilty of neglect.

That's the thing about having so many stamps so little time and yet I am thinking of getting more stamps.

I totally feel sad for all those stamps and the money that was spent on them - not to mention the space they take up. I recently thought that I might get rid of some of my stamps I don't use any more. I would either sell them or give them away to to a friend who is just starting. When I started going through them, I actually only found three sets that I didn't really want to keep. I have decided to try and use a group of them each week and challenge myself - even if I just used them as bg or in addition to another stamp.

Oh for sure, I have so many stamps, and not enough time in the world to use them all, lol!

I got my Flourishes stamps from last month and haven't even opened them yet. GASP!

Makes me sad. I have so much I want to do, and unfortunately(or I guess fortunately as it pays for the stamps) I have a daytime job, and can't spend all my time crafting.

I really REALLY need to win the lottery!

Yes.

I've got loads of stamps and some have never seen ink! Scary!

What's worse is that I still want more stamps...

I keep saying that I'm going to make two challenge jars... one containing strips of papers with stamp companies and the other with techniques.... Then I'd pick a strip from each jar and make a project.

Now I just need to do it!

My goal last weekend was to make cards using stamps in different categories that I've never used before - at least 3 per day. I managed to make 14 cards [some I made 2 of] and used 8 "new" stamps. I need to continue doing this so I actually use some of those older stamps.

Same here. I am now using a lot of patterned paper, dies, punches, and embossing folders instead of my stamps. The one exception are my sentiment stamps. At this point, I'm feeling like more of a card maker than a stamper.

Right now I have a big U-haul box full of stamps sitting on the floor at my feet...big sigh.
I want to use them and I would love for them to have a home in the open but there is NO room. I have gone through them to see if there are any I want to get rid of. That is one of the hardest things to do. I can not find any I don't want and yet they don't see ink because................too many other stamps that are unmounted and take up less than a tenth of the space.
I know I can unmound THE BOX but that is a chore I am not ready to tackle yet! Anyone want a job??

My aunt, who has two little boys under the age of three says she feels so guilty b/c she doesn't have time to craft anymore. She says she has "velveteen stamps". I don't get to craft nearly as much as I would like anymore and mine are starting to feel that way too.

Next time we go through our stamps with the intention of getting rid of some and find any we are in doubt about, it may be an idea to stamp out a few A4 sheets of the design instead of holding on to the stamps. That way we will still have a few images if they are ever needed.

Default Card Maker vs Stamper

That is exactly it! That is what I have been thinking lately, that with all the embellishments and doo dads for sale out there, I, too, am neglecting the very thing I got into rubber stamping for in the first place. I think we naturally gravitate towards the easy way to make a card rather than delve into ideas that take more time and effort with what we have on hand. I got out a mess of bird and butterfly stamps yesterday and made 3 cards, all using the same stamps but in different designs. I am keeping 1 out of each bunch I make as a reminder of what I want to fall back on in a pinch. So, I am telling myself no to much of the new stuff and using what I have. In Proverbs it says "the eye is never satisfied." That can be good in a lot of ways but not all. I don't want to feed the good, when I can feed the best, so I will push myself to work harder and use less new stuff.

What a great idea, especially for those stamps you just don't love... I have many sets that have 1 or 2 in them that I have never used. Some sets that I have purchased and never used yet. I love digitals lately, easy to get no wait and no backorders or preorders.
