I have some templates that may be of use - there are some http://www.timeforcrafting.co.uk/numbers.html teen numbers there, and I will be adding more soon. Also I have mobile phone, funky boot and shoe templates - and a concertina teenager card. I find the younger teenagers enjoy the number shaped cards, with their name on it.

I like to use the SU! star punches for teens - this way if you don't know them well, or you're not sure what they're into, it's a pretty safe bet for boys and girls (just pick the appropriate color of course).

Here is a card I saw on SCS - this is not my design, nor did I make this one, but I saved it as a future "teenager" layout (though I plan to use brighter colors):

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...=jordanicholas

There's also this one too:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0?si=joelysmom

And this will lead you to a "star punch" search:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...2star+punch%22

Also, I think any "cupcake" card would work great too. I don't care what age you are - who doesn't love cupcakes?!

Hope this helps!

I like stars too. Here is one I did last spring... Sam's Birthday. The stars are from Cuttlebug. The Happy Birthday is SU Alphabet Soup. Hard to see, but the red stars are cut from glitter paper and the ribbon has lots of sparkle.

I have a "Party like a Rock Star" stamp from Mike's. Here's a teen card I did a few months ago using that stamp. If you can't find the stamp in your Mike's or don't want to buy it; I'd be glad to stamp some images and mail to you.

Here's the link to my Party Like A Rock Star card:

Change the colors for boys or girls!
Could use it for a guitar player or band member too!

Don't have any pics, but I do have a 16 year old DD and an 18 year DS. I tend to use BB colors almost exclusely on cards for their friends, although black and silver seem to have gotten popular lately with a lot of them. You can't go wrong with graphic shapes (have used Fun with shapes alot). Even images from the '60's and '70's work well. I try to stay away from pastels because a lot of my kids friends, when they were younger, associated that with being a baby.

Girls tend to like bright colors with lots of glitter and shiny silver paper, (I just asked my dd and she agreed) funky flowers, shopping images, that kind of thing.

For boys, you can't go wrong with car images. Darker shades of the same colors for girls, Black, silver, gray. They like shiny stuff also just more metallic and subtle, like chrome, dirtier looking.

Oh yeah and skulls are a HUGE deal right now. I just got Just Jawing from SU because my dd loves the skull with the heart eyes. Go figure? Hope this epistle helps. This is one topic I know too much about right now .

I agree that skulls and tattoo/edgier stamps are "trendy" with teens now. So are rock music type stamps. I know that there's a great clear set by Inkadinkado, but I don't know what it's called.

My favorites are Lovely skull & bones and any of the Tattoo-inspired stamps from Bombshell Stamps!

I wanted the just jawin set from stampin up and the rockabilly paper BUT I just said no I have a cricut cartridge called Indie Arts that has the skull, guitars, flames anything to make a good teen card. My son also likes animals so I usually look for some kind of humorous animal image and stick it with something funny that might have happened.

They need to make a stamp that looks like money. That would be cool. Reckon that would be against the law?

Here's an idea. I made this card and gift card holder. I made them with teens/tweens in mind.

The inside of the card says this:
"trips to the mall."

Then, the little purse opens to reveal a gift card for the mall.

Here are a few really simple cards using the retired SU set "All About U":

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...00&ppuser=9306
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...00&ppuser=9306
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...00&ppuser=9306 (that one was for an adult, but it's not too "grown up" looking IMO)

And here's a simple one with a starry theme:
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...00&ppuser=9306

I also love the Lizzie Anne Designs stamp set, "Party Animals." IMO it's great for any age group, really. Here are a few cards I've made with it:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...00&ppuser=9306
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...00&ppuser=9306

I'd think anything with cake, balloons, or presents would be appropriate, too, such as sets like SU's 2008 Sale-a-Bration set, "Birthday Whimsy."

I agree with Curly Chick - it's more about the colors with teens. Anything bright and bold and a simple graphic image or word works for teens. Simple and "funky" is best. (I'm the mother to 2 dd's that are vocal about their preferences!

Do they do sports? What about making a soccer, basketball, baseball, golf, etc. card for them?

Great thread. I am always in a quest for inspiration for cards for my teen daugther and her friends and my tween son and his friends.

I made these with a great little set from http://littlepapershop.com/

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0&ppuser=46645

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0&ppuser=46645

And one with stampingbella stamp and star punch
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0&ppuser=46645

Before I got the stamp set from Little Paper Shop I made this with a
computer generated clip art guitar image and chipboard numbers, SU Star punch also was used.
http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...0&ppuser=46645

Here are some I had in My Favorites for inspiration for teen cards:
