We are planning a low key celebration for our 50th anniversary - our family is helping but I am the one with time for some details. Could some one help with a saying or verse - I know there is one that says something about wanting "your presence only" - to include on the invitation?
Can't help you with the verse, but with 50 years under your belt you sure are my idol. DH and I will be at 7 this September, and no itching;-). Enjoy your celebration.

Fix a little table that have cameras on them and make the guests do all the work by filling out the questionaaires you want to know from them. How old are your kids now? We I went to a nice, but low key 50 year anniv. party, that is what their daughters did. pens, posties, scrapbook pages picurtres that had never been written on the back. Everyone had such a blast of figuring out who was that in that white tafeta dress in 1953? It' helped the entire family by taking new picures to mix with the old photos.
In fact, I have a double cousin and she and I look a lot like sisters, but man our kids look like they are brothers and sisters all together.
How fun. I hope you put baskets of cameras to be your eyes ffor the party.
Warm reguards!

My parents celebrated their 50th, 1yr ago (yesterday was their 51st!) and on the invitations they said
If you feel you can't come empty handed, please bring a gift for someone far more deserving for us. A gift to the Walk for Life or the Caring Cupboard would be greatly appreciated!
They had a blast and raised over $3000.00 for cancer and had boxes of food for the caring cupboard!
Happy Anniversary.

How wonderful! I really like your how you worded the no gifts please. When dh and I got married we had the no gifts please on the invite - but it was more like what jthawk said.. "your presence is presents enough"
Altho marrying into a Greek family that didn't work.
Lots of great ideas here. I especially like the ideas for charity.
And thank you for all the kind wishes. The actual date is June 1, but we will celebrate at a family reunion on July 2. Kind of amazing - DH has 6 brothers and sisters - I just added up the total years married for the 7 - 330 years.
