I jumped on the Papertrey bandwagon when the Little Lady set came out, and I finally got a chance to play with it last night. I am really excited about how my first card turned out so I just had to share. I'd love for you to take a look!
Great card. I would never have thought of the sentiment becoming flower petals. I am going to have to copy it. I just got the little lady set, too. Here is my first card with it. Litte Lady by Montana at Splitcoaststampers
Thank you so much for all the lovely comments. I was so excited that the card turned out as I had envisioned it!
The bottom strip is stamped. I used the 3 flowers and dot that come with the set. Some of the flowers are stamped full strength, and the others are stamped off once with the next size smaller flower stamped in the middle. I usually prefer to stamp my own patterned paper because I seem to have a hard time finding DP that I like and that goes with my project. This way there's no question that the colors will match!
What colors of ink did you use? I am going to be thinking about this card all day at work. I hope no one suffers as a result LOL!
The main ink color is called Wildflower and is from CTMH. I got it several years ago, and I believe it's retired now (which is sad because it's been one of my all-time favorite colors). I also used Basic Black and Always Artichoke from SU!.
You should submit the card to Papertrey for their monthly contest. That's a super cute card!
Thanks so much for everyone's compliments. I submitted it this morning before I posted it here. I hadn't seen anyone else use the sentiment in this way, so I was hoping I was the first. Anyway, I'd love to win new stamps!
That card is awesome!! I jumped on the PT bandwagon last month and have made a ton of fun cards. I just think the clear stamps are easier for me to work with right now. I love their images... really cute and fun!
wonderful -- and a BIG thank you for the detailed description of your techniques -- now I have a fighting chance of even coming close to your creation!
