If you can only get one I'd suggest the regular size. You can put an unfolded card base in it where the mini is best with just the card front. The mini is great for traveling though. I have both and love both of them.
I can open a card and place the whole card in the regular sized misti. The mini is only big enough for a folded card. Many love the new mini, but I'm happy with the larger one.
I have the larger one and I love it. I would like the mini as well, but since I only have the budget for one, I think the regular one is more versatile.
The regular one is more versatile. I can put two stamps in it, stamp one, turn the card and stamp with the second stamp. I do a lot of multiple cards for swaps and love my MISTI so I can re-stamp if I need to.
What size cards do you make? I have the original as I often make square cards that would not fit in the mini. The mini is nice for traveling or small spaces though.
Sometimes in designing your card you don't want to stamp the entire image on your card front (i.e. your your stamp hangs off the edge of your card). With the mini, I don't think you have this option. With the original size MISTI you have much more flexibility on where you can partially stamp an image.
When I first saw the mini I thought I might want that size too, for portability/travel, but have decided against it for this reason.
I have the original size, and was soooo glad the other day when I opened a card to stamp on both sides of the inside at one time without having to refold the card!
And when you order and are already paying for shipping, spring for some extra magnets. Those little rascals scurry all over the place, and although I haven't broken any yet, I'm sure my time is coming.
If you order the original size from Rusty at Oozak, there is no shipping; he offers free shipping with a $50 minimum purchase.
