Default ?Making rubber stamp from a cartoon?

I saw this today a loved it. Would make a great coloring card. I downloaded to a jpg and wonder if/how to get a stamp made from it. I can't find the original artist. Any ideas?

You'd really need the artist's permission before you thought about getting a stamp made because of copyright. You presumably found the image online - were there no clues there about its origins?

There would be a lot of work to clean that out to make it a line art image suitable as a stamp - if the stamp was going to be produced in commercial quantities it might be worth it but if you'd be looking at a one-off for your own use then it would be a real labour of love!

I thought there might be copyright issues. I saw it on FB and have searched with no luck to find the artist. Bummer! Copyright issues considered, I wonder if creating a digi-stamp might work.

Digital stamps fall under the same copyright laws.

Anything that reproduces the picture is covered by copyright so, as Jeanne says, a digi-stamp is no different in that regard than a regular stamp.

Can you ask the person who posted it on Facebook where it's from and who the artist is? There is a signature at bottom right - I can make out JNGE and maybe L but it looks like it's been cropped so part of the signature is missing and that final letter might be something other than L.

Here's your artist: Inge Löök's old ladies - a gallery on Flickr

Those would absolutely make wonderful stamps if the artist gave permission to produce them. They remind me of me and my friend. We've been friends for almost 40 years and get into all kinds of trouble when we're together...

Sabrina, thank you for sharing this wonderful group of paintings. I think the artist, Inge Look, surely has love, laughter and joy in her soul as her paintings are so gorgeous, playful and just make me smile so much

Hi,
What I learned today is that the artist does not do rubber stamps, nor sell her postcards in the US. I want to ask if they'd consider doing it or give permission for rubber stamps or digi-stamps. I'll post if I learn anything positive
