One of my bookclub friends just called and asked me to make her a set of cards as a gift to another friend. I've done this before and was always excited about it. But now, ugh!
I'm not excited by the way I stamp right now. Don't know why because I love to stamp and scrap. I just am in a rut right now. Nothing I do looks good to me anymore. I've got lots of stuff, lots of cards in the galleries to look at. I feel I've lost my "stampin mojo".
I need to get started because she needs this by Tuesday; maybe it's the close deadline to make 10 cards? Don't know. Anyway, thanks for letting me pout here for a bit.
Just jump in and get started. The last couple of challenges I did were "must do's" and I wasn't feeling my mojo at all. But I plugged away and both times ended up with cards I loved. Don't worry...your cards are wonderful, and these will be, too!
I always fail miserably when I *have* to do a card for something. I can only stamp when it's not for something in particular.....so needless to say I don't "do" orders, lol!
Your friend must obviously like your stamping style or she wouldn't have asked you to make a gift for someone!!! Keep the design simple, maybe even add a mini composition book to the set. Here's an easy one of mine you could probably adapt with an image and sentiment you have.....black always makes colors pop!!!

When I'm in a rut I go back to my own gallery and find a card to duplicate. Invariably, I don't have the exact same papers anymore, so it ends up looking a little different. But it does get me going!
And even though it's for someone else, choose stamps and colors YOU like. That will make it easier to make your cards.
Thanks for your comments. Last night I did one of the flower pot cards that were posted here on the weekly newsletter. And I started another tri-fold using the same stamps/papers. So I'm on my way.
Once I got started I seemed to move along with my little job just fine. I reviewed my gallery and my favorites, chose the less fussy ones, and did up my 10 cards. I even made a box to hold the cards in. Luckily for me, I like to stamp and color images when I'm between projects so I had a head start.
