Default Magic Eraser

Just wanted to pass this along...I have been doing some stamping on tiles with Staz-on. I was down to my last two tiles and made a huge stamping error and thought I was out of luck ---staz on really does, "Stay On!" I remembered I have a Magic Eraser and quickly got it wet and it took off the ink on the tiles! It was great! It also took it off my hands and nails (I'm a sloppy stamper!) Has anyone else used the Magic Eraser for this purpose?

no but that is some great information...

I know bleach will get it out also...

However if you are a baker once you bake those suckers not much will get the ink totally off...might lighten it a little bit but won't take it off (if you are just using staz-on)

Default magic eraser

Wow! Thanks for sharing that info -- if only Magic Eraser had existed 2 or 3 years ago when I was doing tiles for Christmas -- I could have salvaged several ruined tiles...
Someone else mentioned that it removes ink from fingers, but it's good to see that mentioned again. I'm putting a piece of Magic Eraser in the StazOn drawer as a reminder of your discovery!

WOW! That's good to know. I have tossed a couple tiles because I have made a horrible mistake on them. Next time I will try my Eraser!!!

A little off topic, but do you color the images with Sharpies? If not, what do you use?

No way! I knew it took the staz on image off of my counter (after it had been there for months), but I never thought of using it to correct a tile! TFS!

I've been a big fan of the Magic Eraser, and even took some Staz-On off someone's fingers at a 10 for 10.

Did you know there are no chemicals in Magic Erasers at all? They are made of melamine, a finely spun plastic.

Sure beats using toxic solvents that can be absorbed through your skin!

(A little moment of science brought to you by Nina T.) LOL

***Beware, these wonderful litte sponges can cause 1st and 2nd degree burns if rubbed on your skin. I have a family friend that used them to scrub body tatoos of her daugher and I gave her 2nd degree burns. The box does not have warning about this.***

Default magic erasers

LOL! They're made of melamine? Like the old plates and bowls from the 60's and 70's? Talk about finding a higher and better use for a product! I'll take Magic Eraser any day

Re: 2nd degree burns....the instructions on the outside of the box of Magic Erasers I bought did mention that they are very abrasive and caution should be used to not "over scrub" a surface.
I'm sure the manufacturers never even comprehended that there would be a bunch of nutty stampers out there that would use the product for "body buffing"! GOOD GREIF! To find fault that a package label doesn't include a warning about tatoo removal on tender young skin -- unbelievable :P Perhaps the mother should have been a little less aggressive in her pursuit of clean skin... All we need is for someone to use this product irresponsibly, sue the company for all it's worth and then have the product withdrawn from the market.
I'd better quit before I get started on tort reform...we've already had our science lesson for the day and I wouldn't want to distract anyone from their stamping!

I also read that you can use them to get the words off paint chips.

Yes, it's the same stuff! And rather than a chemical agent, it uses fine abrasion. Which explains how you could severly abrade skin. How wise of you for actually reading the directions on the box!!!

I use so many, I thought I better check out how it works.
