Default Light Medium and Dark?

In search of ink that is sold in shades of one color. Often a technique will call for using a light shade followed by a medium and then a dark shade of the same color. Although I have lots of ink pads, I have not been able to find a company that offers 3 shades of the same color. For instance, light blue, medium blue and dark blue. Sometimes I can guesstimate and use something from my stash, but most often they do not match very well.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

There are these: Ink Pad Colorful MultiColor Rainbow by cravingwans on Etsy Wholesale Learning Toys - Buy 6pcs/lot ,each Color 1 RAINBOW INK STAMP PRINTING PAD Art Craft Cardmaking Hand & Feet Safe, $26.59 | DHgate

You might look at ombre techniques for ideas using what you have.

Adirondack inks by Ranger comes in trios -- lights, brights and earthtones. I use them a lot for monochromatic stamping. The sticker on the bottom of each ink pad peels off to reveal a list of the various trios. Hope this helps!

Vic, Thanks for replying, but I don't want all the shades in one pad. Looking for separates.

Kelly, Thank you. I like the Adirondack inks that I have, but didn't find a wide selection there either.

If you go to this link, Ranger Dye Adirondack, , you can see all the Adirondack colours, 48 in total. There are light, bright and darks in all the colours. HTH.

Sometime you'll find two tones within the same part of the range (I'd use Denim and Stonewashed as dark and medium blue for example and they're both in the Earthtones range, likewise Espresso and Latte) but I'd agree that Adirondack is a good place to look if it's dye inks you want.

Distress inks might be worth a look for some colours as well (eg browns - Tea Dye, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain or Antique Linen, Tea Dye and Vintage Photo).

Have you tried Memento ink pads or dew drops? I think you can find blues, purples, greens, and browns at least that will give you the three shades.

Not always the look I want but I stamp off for lighter versions of the same color.

Thank you all for helping. I found a really good range of blues and greens and purples on the ClearSnap/Colorbox page too. But I will need to go to Stampadoodle in Bellingham to get their inks. They don't sell directly online in Washington. Something about our silly sales tax laws.

I also noticed the Memento dew drops have a lot of colors.

Thanks again!

Check out FranticStamper.com. They are in Oregon and a great company to work with. They have a large selection of the clearSnap inks on their site.

I have posted a listing of all the SU colors arranged around the color wheel, with the coordinating colors listed together. Originally that was on the demo side, but it was also posted on this side in this thread:
Need help sorting my SU! colurs into ROYGBIV order. by Misstreez at Splitcoaststampers
Check out post number 2.

The colors that are listed together in one line are coordinating ink colors in the same color family. In other words, they do what you are looking for in your query. However, the listing include ALL the SU colors including the very oldest.

I hope that helps you a bit.
