Hi Judy -

Trays? I'm not positive I know what you're looking for - but many people here have letterpress plates for the Big Shot, the Epic 6 and others - is that what you mean? Or are you looking for cards people have made with a letterpress? Let me know and I'll be able to point you to a forum where people will be able to help!

7 Gypsies Printer Tray.....like a shadow box. It has small boxes; paper can be cut to just fit in the various boxes and embellishments added. I lack such creative. I bought the tray and knowing me, I lack direction and theme. I am afraid of making a mistake. I was hoping I could find some samples of the more talented. I really do appreciate your reply to my question. Looking at your name, I belong to your blog. JudyOR

Oh well thank you!!! I haven't seen these yet, but I feel your pain with buying something and then being afraid to use it!!! I moved this to General Stamping - I bet someone will have an idea. I can't wait to see what people say!!!

Thank you so much for your help. I did look on the 7 Gypsies website. They are into the "Vintage" look and I am into "Vintage". It would be super if others would be able to chime in. JudyOR

I want to do one of these in a boy theme for my Sons Room. I just have to buy the printers tray and I'm looking at the Tim Holtz one. I love looking at examples of what others have done. I think I have all the paper and embellishments for it since it will be in a Hunting/Fishing/Camo theme.

Have you seen the cube boxes from Tim Holtz? I have a small set and bought the materials but I haven't done it yet. I'm going to cover them with canvas paper.

On the 7 Gypsies box I made I cut out some of the dividers to get the size cubes I wanted but with the Tim Holtz boxes I can arrange them the way I want. I love making these kind of projects - they are so much fun.

I can't believe I was just going to post the very same question as Judy OR. I too am looking for samples. Saw the ones on 7gypsies site. And Stamphappy, yours is beautiful! Let's see if we can get more samples! The letterpress try has a different configuration and is a little larger. That's the one I'm working with. Any help appreciated!

Wow..Bonjen3...That is a beautiful tray, very inspiring. Thank you so much for adding a sample. Getting started is so hard for me; picking a theme and color. I altered a journal once and when done I was so proud of it. But it took me a couple of months to think out all the parts. Thank you for your help. JudyOR

Janspark....it is amazing you were going to ask the same question. This is the best place to see new ideas, find creative artists, lots of tutorials and so many eager helpers. I look forward to all ideas for these trays. JudyOR

Kerri Bradford sells kits to complete your printer's trays. You might be able to get some ideas there:

if you want to see a British take on these things, pop over to the docrafts forum and ask your question over there.

there is an altered art section i believe. we're a friendly bunch and try to help everyone out. there is also a gallery of our creations so you may find pix of lettertrays on there.

you will need to register first tho of course before asking your question.

These are great ideas! I love my ATC-sized tray from 7 Gypsies (I change the ATCs to match the seasons), but haven't seen the others in the local stores.

Beautiful examples, everyone! I LOVE the Halloween samples...maybe it's time to go shopping??? LOL!

Smile trays

I have seen something similar at Archivers Scrapbooking store. They also have an on line store you could check out too.

I was going to suggest the Memory Box site also; the Halloween tray was done by Dave Brethauer. I first saw one at my LSS - it was done by Memory Box; I instantly fell in love with it, and ordered 2: 1 for Halloween and 1 for Christmas. For the Halloween one, my LSS had some of the Memory Box stamps Dave used; the others I ordered from Impress Rubber Stamps. Good luck!

I bought one of these at a LSS a few weeks ago, and I've been wondering how to get started on it, as well! LOL Thanks to all of you who posted links to finished projects - they are all wonderful! I can only hope to create something half as nice as what I've seen here. :-)

hb I understand your "hope". I am the same way. I did look at the www.archiversononline.com website. Good ideas there. Right now I need a theme. I am going to make one for my daughter first (her birthday is just a couple of months away). I have made a long list of her likes; turtles, penguins, flowers and butterflies. So now I need to pick my colors and DS papers. It takes me so long to make a decision. I wish you great success on making yours. JudyOR

I picked up a couple of trays from Archivers a couple of weeks ago and wasn't sure I was going to do with them, but I love them. Yesterday my teenage daugher, who never wants to craft with me, asked me what should get her freind for her graduation. We decided to use the letter tray. She picked out pictures to put in and we went through my craft stuff. We both really liked the way it turned out and I got to spend time with my DD.
