I went searching for background paper today, I am going to re do my son's baby book. Get the birth through elementary school years. After he entered middle school, everything went downhill, I don't think I collected anything to scrap. But I can at least get this done.

The shamrocks are too cute, I have friends with St Pat's day birthdays, these will be perfect to decorate packages.

Ihave spend two weeks staring at the tv, time to start being productive.

Okay, three weeks in the recfliner is ridiculous, I don't care if it was a major surgery. Dr says I am healing nicely, can start some mall walking, and I actually got some cards made tonight.

Two more weeks and I head back to work. WAHHHH!!!

Well this isn't Valentine BUT just by changing the paper and the stamped image it could be for Valentine.

The baskets are too cute. I just finished putting graham crackers through the food processor to layer the crumbs for a Valentine peep jar. I dislike the crumbs bought at grocery store, taste stale to me. And I could not find my wide mouth jars, so I had some moments of exaperation to stuff the peeps down and get them lined up around the jar. Not looking as good as I would of liked, but I put pretty of curly ribbon and made a eyecatching tag, so hopefully anyone will look at that, and not my slightly disheveled heart shaped peeps.

Mary,

Thank you. In all I baked for 90 people on V Day, did 60 school party favors.

And it didn't hurt a bit.lol I was lucky I took a few extra days for medical leave, which was a big help. A new antique/consignment shop opened near me, and I got a call if I would be interested in placing some cards, I even sold 20 Valentine cards, which surprised me.

Now, get ready for Easter ideas.

And I failed to mention that my linzer cookies won second place at Valentine cookie contest. My son's girlfriend teaches, and she was going to decline from the contest, but I told her I would give it a try. The cookies were very pretty, but the winning cookie had dark and white chocolate. Most women will always vote for chocolate.

I've finally decided to purge my empty Cricut cartridge boxes. I'm going to try and alter the older magnetic ones to use as packaging & gifts. Any other ideas? Or pics of what you clever ladies have done?

This college program has really kicked my butt with work. But, I graduate May 17!

BTW, I started working on a few paper bag albums last week for a pay if forward craft thing with a group of folks I know in the Civil War reenacting world I participate in.

I am thinking of pulling out all my unfinished projects, finishing them and selling on Etsy. I don't have one of those, never have. Anyone do this and how does it work for you?

Etsy is pretty easy to use. I've purchased a few things on there & am in the process of setting up a shop. You can get a lot of info from reading the forums there. I also like to go on there & do searches for different items. It helps me with the pricing problem I always seem to have.

I will have to check out the Etsy site, I am taking a few days off from the ER. I am maxed out on my vacation hours, supervisor said she would have difficulty covering me for a few days, I said okay, just let me acrue my hours, HR says no, gotta take the time off. Then I asked why can't they pay me for the hours, keep working this week, no, hospital in financial difficulty. Brilliant solution is I take off with paid vacation time, then they have to pay a fill in technician for three days. Duh, which is double the money expended. No wonder healthcare is in crisis. I think some family financial wizards who juggle the bills, groceries, orthodontists, and can make it all happen could run the country better than some of the yahoo's in power.

I think I have drank too much diet coke tonight.

I don't know but maybe it's a question of fees you have to pay?

Fees have gone up on ebay, that's for sure. Although they are based on the price of the item you sell & you also pay a % on your shipping. They are easily as high as 10 to 12%. And that doesn't include the paypal fee, which is approximately 3%, I think. Etsy fees are around 3%.
I sold some things recently on ebay & didn't realize how much the fees had gone up. So I didn't make as much on my sold item as I thought I would, that's for sure.

It seems to me that ETSY would be the place people would look for handmade items, thus a better chance to sell your stuff. Just my opinion. I too plan to open an ETSY shop when i have a good stock pile of items made.

I don't sell on Etsy, but I love to shop there. Not papercraft items, since I make my own, lol, but they have lots of really neat unique jewelry especially.

I browse the paper items sometimes to get inspiration. I know quite a few people who sell cards on Etsy and do pretty well.

Crochet is kind of hot these days, and crocheted items also seem to sell.

My daughter set up an etsy account for my Inspired Bliss business. I haven't yet added items though!!
So far, I sell mostly through my Facebook page and people who know me through craft shows/special orders.
