After checking the web sites, Michael's with a coupon will be easiest route to go. One site was really cheap, but had to order a case of 720 tins. No way, they would get damaged in storage, and unusable.
Still got plenty of spray paint, and it's a good thing. I picked up a magazine, and showed a really neat way to decorate the dining room table for the holidays. Quick trip to Lowes, dig in my fabric stash, maybe a trip to Hancock's, and I can pull it off.
The recipe card/ calendar is fantastic. What kind of books did you put these in? Did you bind them yourself?
No, not my idea, just found it. Looks like she may have used a Bind-It-All for her calendars. If you have that fancy stuff on your computers, you could do this digitally too, or go to Wal-Mart, CVS, Wal-greens, etc. and have them print it out to, couldn't you?? I've got some recipe cards from swaps that I was in a couple of years ago that would work for this idea. Than they could remove the cards and throw out the calendar part after it was no good anymore and still have the recipe cards to keep to use.
Turn out at this facility was small. It was small last year so I didn't expect too much. Still I cleared $95.00 and there could not have been 30 people during the two hours it was open (12:00 - 2:00) -- so I figured I did pretty well. I also had a number of people ask whether or not I did shower favors so I gave them my card and I'm hoping I will get a few projects after the holidays. On Thur I will have a table at the larger facility at lunch time. Last year I did a few hundred dollars there in two hours. I'm hoping for the same this year.

I spent some time on this thread last night, marking pages and projects I want to start on. The blizzards in a glass, and the Rudolph spare red nose idea with the tins.
There is a whole thread about the M&M treats. So many people have made great ones. There is even a valentine's day one made to look like an arrow! Here is the thread. M&MTreats
I bought the bags at Clearbags.com Great prices but you have to buy a ton to get the good prices. Since my husband and I run a senior ministry (and do favors for about 60 seniors every month) I felt it was worth buying a bunch. I know some JoAnn's and Michael's carry the thin cellos as well. They are 1 inch wide (yes - that does hold the M&M's - or skittles).
I don't know the right place to ask this...so excuse me if this isn't it! I'm a fairly new cardmaker, looking to make Christmas cards featuring a photo of my son on the beach this summer. Does anyone have a link to some ideas and examples of photo cards? I have all these big ideas...but when I sit down to start working, they've all disappeared. I just want the cards to do justice to the beautiful photo. Thanks in advance.
I did a holiday home tour today, got really great ideas, one of the trees was decorated in nothing but candy, but was just gorgeous. Lots of fun today.
I also scored at Big Lots, found all the stuff I needed for the blizzard socks that was on a blog a few pages back. Slowly, I am getting ready.
These are 2 of the bookmarks I did for a class, and then repeated a bunch of them for an upcoming craft fair. They are the plain manilla tags from OfficeMax, then I added a background stamp, then layers and layers of doo-dahs (mostly from 7 gypsies) and a little stitching around the edge.
Using the bookmarks again, this time I added mini tins filled with marbles. I got the tins at Michaels in the bridal aisle. They came in a kit for wedding favors. The tag says "Just in case you lost a few of your own"

Those are just the cutest ever - and boy do I need some!

Mindy, your craft fair items are cute. I'm with Bugga, I'm ALWAYS looking for my marbles!
One year at a craft sale I bought a little wooden box that had a small lid on it, the top had this written on it...."Three Piece Chicken Meal", when you swung the little piece of wood away from the box, it had a small opening with three pieces of yellow corn glued in it! I had to buy that silly thing just because it made me laugh!
Wow! Thanks so much for all the great ideas. My side of the family has decided that we are having a HOMEMADE Christmas this year. YIKES! I haven't done that since we were students. I am going to be referring to this thread often.
Thanks again! I haven't been on SCS in so long. It is good to be back!
Mindykid... what G-R-E-A-T ideas. I was actually looking for some fun, non-Christmas ideas for next year's sales. These will be perfect. I'm going to print up your pics and put them in my Ideas Book. Thanks so much for sharing. BTW, my husband laughed and laughed at the three piece chicken meal idea - and he is NOT that easily amused. LOL
