As long as you don' open the package peeps last a LONG time in fact the shelf life for peeps is 24 months! (One article I found states the shel life as 14 years!) LOL- the company already has the Easter peeps made for next year - do to the quantity they have to make they have to be a year ahead of each season or they would never be able to make enough!
Just Born is the Parent company that makes them in PA. You can buy online also!

MARSHMALLOW PEEPSŪ is the website - I just looked to see what you can buy online and unfortunately they do not show any of the snowmen peeps ...but they should be out in the local stores soon - they will putting out Halloween and Christmas items right after they finish up with the Back to School stuff at the end of the month or so - you know the retailers - they rush the seasons!!! There is also a section with recipes and crafts with some cute ideas!

wonderful ideas ladies -I didn't have time to browse through all the 40-something pages, just couple of last ones...
I was asked by our community art center to prepare a christmas workshop - any ideas what could I do? The only things that came to my mind were card or tag set... oh and it cannot be anything with food...

I wonder how she made that owl?

It is that time of year again where I need to ramp up the crafting for craft fair season. I am actually organizing a craft fair this year in a big old barn in a quaint New England town. It will be at the end of October. I just can't seem to get motivated!

Thanks Margaret...I wasn't thinking of that, was just thinking that if I bought them where would I store them for a year? They would last in the house because no one likes them! Now I have to figure out how to get another "extra" suitcase home!!!

Holliston, Massachusetts. Beautiful little town.

Thanks for the heads up on the punch, Gayla. I just re-signed up to be a demo and I haven't looked through the new catty very carefully. Those owls are adorable.

I just bought some blank DVD tins from Gina K Designs, and I am going to make the legal pad holder thing with them. I'm making them into shopping pads, and they are for my girl cousins.

I am going to cover the outside in a patterned paper that is their favorite color, and put their names. Inside I will put a Jr. Legal Tab in it, and I bought some dry erase sheets (they are like a cardstock weight but work just like a dry erase board - very cool!). I will put the writing tablet on the right inside, and on the left inside I am going to cut a piece of the dry erase sheets with my Nestie and put it there, along with a post it note pad and some magnets that go with the set. Then I will sit a mini dry erase pen on the inside and an RSVP pen. I'll edge the sides of the tin with ribbon and probably put solid coordinating paper on the back.

Just thought it might be a cute idea for others! I never got around to my Husband Survival Kits last year so I will make those this year for their husbands/fiancees.

As much as I HATE that the retailers RUSH the seasons- I am ready for the holiday goodies to start appearing - I have been busily working on my holiday gifts and have all the prep work done I just need the food items to get them all put together - candy corn, snowmen peeps and the LOL cocoa packets! My note tins are all done - just need to pic up magnets to finish the last piece of the set so I can get them photographed, bagged up and put away till December! Now just need to find a couple ideas for Thanksgiving...........

Hey Margaret,

I was kind of thinking the same. I have a large packing box of Christmas tins, just sitting in storage. With everyone being so calorie conscious these days, the idea hit me to use them for Christmas cards. Beautiful tins, I usually get them 75% off after the holidays, might as well use them.

HO HO HO, let the holiday games begin.

I used the International coffee tins that I saved - covered with decorative paper and stamped a monogram or the persons name - inside is sheets of memo paper and a mini gel pen - I made a large pebble magnet to go along with it - that will be put in a small bag and attached to the top of the package (just so it will be seen and not get lost int he bottom of the tin!) I also bought a bunch of Christmas Cookie tins after Christmas - I will decorate them up for homemade cookies and treats........when all the holiday goodies are done it will be time to jump into to graduation goodies for my youngest daughter - I have a bunch of ideas floating about for that just need to get the details in order and get started - June will be here before I know it!

I've lost the post but someone was talking about the SU knit stamps? I gottogether a group of ladies from work to knit squares for a blanket for a girl who was leaving to have a baby...trying to find a poem to go with it was a nigthmare so i wrote one myself

Willing hands and loving hearts have knitted this for you
Its full of hugs to make you snug if ever you feel blue,
Or when baby wants a play mat or a cover on their bed
Or to snuggle up together when nursery rhymes are said,
Or in the middle of the night when baby wants a feed,
Or lying on the bed, if you get a chance to read.
Or if you’re feeling lonely, and in moments of despair
Put the blanket round you and we will all be there
We’ll be there to share your good times, the giggles and the cheers
And should you find you’re weepy , we’ll be there to share your tears
The fun we’ve had in making this, the new skills we have learned
The stitches and the balls of wool the needles we have turned
There’s love in every square you see and lots of laughter too
From each and every one of us…………. especially for you

if anyone can use please do

I have slowed way down on stamping this past year, I know you can tell. I am working right now on sewing items for Christmas and birthdays. I have made 10 pillowcases, 2 hawaiian shirts, two table runners (both in the works...not finished) and a friendship quilt (double sized). In addition, I have been working on paper gifts.....Christmas cards and tags to give to my sister, SIL (3), Mom and MIIL at Thanksgiving. I have not completely finished so, I have not posted.

School starts for me in 2 weeks, I have to get a huge chunk finished before then. I am under the gun, so to speak.

I am also starting a new venture....huge new venture! I am spearheading putting in an 1860-70's period kitchen garden at a National Historic Site. Which I will eventually be working in near daily in period clothing. So, I have been doing a lot of sewing and researching.

That is why you may think I have fallen off the planet.

Side Note: Mental frame of mind much better!

I will be putting the garden next to the Ulysses S. Grant NHS in St. Louis County. Bit scary when the gal in charge said that they would be taking my lead in this. And after I backed off for a day and after a nice chat with my husband, who pointed out that I have wanted to do this for as long as he has known me......I started getting excited. This literally fell into my lap!

Got the quilt pieces cut out today. Ready to start sewing now. Talk to you later.

Hey Cindy,

A outdoor kitchen? Like cooking over a fire with a big pot hanging from some sticks? Wow, that is ambitious.

In the old days, people had gardens just outside their kitchen doors. Mostly herbs and vegetables like we would have today, maybe some gooseberries or currants. The Grant home was his wife's father's home and it was where President Grant retired to after his presidency until 1880.

This National Park has been restoring the buildings and grounds to look as much like they did in 1875 since 1991.

I wanted to volunteer someplace that I could use my period clothing at. This will be a perfect fit for me. I hope so anyway.
