Staying home today to "play" in my craft room and work on my coaster now that I have all of my Christmas cards made, addressed and ready to mail next week!
Mary, I am envious of you. I am stuck here at work, full of too many holiday carbs. But I brought stuff to work on, and I am just making the best of it.
What great sales and bargains did everyone find today?
I'm still at the in-laws and we have a bunch of kids to look after while everyone else is shopping. We are taking the kids out to see some Christmas displays at some of the historical homes in the area, lunch and then out to see a Parade tonight.
Wishing I could have brought some things to work on!!
I've got things cut out but now I'm working on how to decorate, put them together and how to stand/present them. I've seen some brilliant ones here and cricut forum, but know it will not be that standard ........... I'm working on it LOL
I just had an aha! moment. I've been trying to come up with a nice sturdy card box for the card sets I give away. Then it came to me. I have tons of empty clam shells (I unmount my stamps)! Duh! I can use those!
I am the queen of ADD! I have about four projects going today and I haven't finished one of them! Here I sit, in my comfy chair, looking as SCS for new ideas to start! Somebody stop me!!!!!
Today, I made 6 more note card sets, a snowglobe and finished up 2 quilted table runners!
Still have to tie a quilt and get another table runner made for a gift for a Christmas party on Thursday night! Other than that I have pretty much everything made - except for the 18 packages of Moose Tracks - but am thinking that should be the last thing to make closer to Christmas for freshness - oh yeah just have to write out the Christmas cards - they have been made for sometime now!

Wait, you mean I was actually supposed to finish those projects?
Huh. Who knew?
On another note (what ADD?) I did manage to get the Black Friday shopping kits done IN TIME to get them delivered so the girls could use them. LOL! I promise, pics soon. They are stuck on one computer, the network is down so I need to go on that computer and email them to myself and on and on. But soon!
I did get the cookbooks done for my chocolate survival kits!

Are you my long lost sister???!!!!??? I'm thinking so!!!!
Still working on my coasters for dh co-workers. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what else I can add to their gift? He is going to retire in June 2010, so this Christmas I wanted to do something extra for them (coasters). Will post a picture of coasters, maybe later today.
I need to quickly figure out what I have left to do. I think I have just enough Xmas cards made so I need to write them out this week. I'm debating typing a little letter instead of hand writing them all, we will see.
I found Xmas mugs with lids in my craft room, so I'm thinking of making peppermint bark and filling the mugs for DH's office ladies. I also found some ornaments I bought awhile back to go with it.
I would like to do a little something for my coworkers. We don't want to get into giving gifts, but since I love making stuff, I want to do make them a little set of cards.
I only have about 20 more cards to finish!!!!! Got to finish the projects I started this summer! Difficult to have the time and energy with college and my son in the hospital, ugh! Hopefully this weekend I can carve out time for crafting....got the laundry done last night, hubby volunteered to grill out 2 of the 3 nights and I cleaned last Sunday after the company left! Even with son in rehab hospital for 6 weeks and my trips back and forth, I won't have to sit for hours with him like in the regular hospital.
Feeling a bit panicky right now but, will sit down and put everything on paper, That should help! I like the shopping survival kit idea, just not for this year. I keep writing down the ideas.....someday I will get to them all!
Oh, I forgot to tell you...I got all my jams and jellies done for the neighbors. I plan on giving several of the small jars to each of my closest neighbors with some scones this year. I usually give small breads or pineapple upside down cakes. Just wanted to do something different. Need a cute packaging idea for the jellies.....anyone?
I'm so sorry to hear your son is in the hospital.
I find lots of fun packing by MyTime at PaperTreyInk. The templates are $5 each and you just download them to your computer.
Oh Mary! Those are very nice indeed!! I may have to put these on the list for the SILs gift bags.....oh you know the one with the note cards, frosted candle holder, Christmas Planner (that they can use next year), hot cocoa mix, etc., etc.!!
Ladies.....I am looking to send a box of goodies to my brother in California. In that box will be his favorite coffee (starbucks) and St. Louis coffee mugs, homespun kitchen towel and potholder and a decorated candle. I also want to include some either scone or muffin mix that is already except for the liquid ingredients.
Does anyone have a recipe for that or can give me a link? I want to get this ready for mail by next Monday!
So do you need to seal the tops with a matt sealer or something?
No, nothing. I watched a video done by Gina K and she used the Stazon ink and stated that the ones she did 3 years ago still look as good as the day she stamped them. I don't have the link handy at this, will try and post it later.

Gifts in a Jar:
Scone Mix
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp salt
2 tsp cream of tartar
Layer the ingredients in the order given into a wide mouth 1-quart canning jar. Pack each layer in place before adding the next ingredients.
Gift tag:
1 jar scone mix 1 cup buttermilk
6 Tablespoon butter or margarine softened
2 eggs lightly beaten
Preheat oven to 370 degrees. In large bowl place the scone mix. Blend in the butter until it is well distributed. Stir in the buttermilk and eggs. Turn out onto a floured board, and knead for 1 minute. Divide the dough into four pieces. Flatten each piece of dough into a round, 6 inches in diameter and 1/2 inch thick. Cut each circle into 4 pieces. Place on greased cookie sheet. bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm or cool completely on a wire rack.
Also have several muffin mixes if you need one - just let me know and I will post it!
