There's a new Jewish set in the new CTMH catalog as well. I don;t love it, but I'll buy it to keep them creating Jewish sets!

If you're mailing it, I would suggest a gift card instead of cash. I just get nervous sending cash. Perhaps ask the parents where she likes to shop. Or maybe get a Visa gift card. My DS got lots of Barnes & Noble gift cards and he was so happy! He also got iTunes, Best Buy, and Borders I think. Really, anything is appropriate.

Is it online anywhere I can see it?

Mary Alice - good luck finding Stars of David! It's very hard to get people to part with it. I have it and wouldn't give it up for anything. But if you want some stamped images, let me know.

We'll actually be making the trip - it's only 8 hours each way so not too bad... but you are right about cash issue even if we attend... maybe a check or gift card...

I don't know if the new CTMH Jewish set is online anywhere. I got the catalog in the mail from my CTMH demo (we exchange catalogs). I'll try and take a messy desk picture of it later today.

That'd be great Yapha. Thanks! I'm going to CKC Hartford with some friends in October. I could get it there I think, if I like it.

Thanks for all the great info on this thread. I'm going to a Bar Mitzvah next month but do not want to invest in a stamp just to make this card. Would a generic/masculine card front with a Congratulations sentiment appropriate?

I would also love a good sentiment for the inside if anyone could help me out with that. And thanks for the $18 info - I had no idea!

Absolutely, that would be appropriate.

Inside sentiment - are you stamping or printing on the computer? A simple Mazel Tov! would be fine for the inside. Or congratulations on your achievement, or anything like that that. If you're looking for something a little "more" I've got plenty. Just let me know if you want more.

Nope - I think I'll just print Mazel Tov! on the computer. Thanks so much for your help. SCS to the rescue again!

However, I do applaud SU! for at least trying.
This can backfire - I always tell myself to not buy sick fish I see at w@llyworld (insert name of big box store), because that will be an incentive for them to just sell more sick fish... then I end up with more fish because I feel sad for them.

SU! If your reading this - your jewish stamp set is not "choice". How about talking to some people who ARE jewish before you design

I'm getting ready to make a Bat Mitzvah card myself for the first girl-child of my dear friend. I want it as sparkly as the temples make them ... but with a good personal touch. I'm thinking of distressing a wine glass as the center with a scrolled up torah behind it. I feel funny distressing a torah so ... not this time.

If I posted some attempts would you please give me criticisms? I'll get to work this weekend. Yom tov!

Speaking of feedback...I'd like some on these, please. I am doing a Stamp-A-Stack, so they need to be fairly simple. I also send them to DH's customers. He's a photographer and does Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, weddings, etc. I'm hoping the personal touch will generate some referrals.

What do you think? I'll only do one of them. I still need to work on a second design. I have some Rosh Hashanah stamps from Ruth's but I used them last year. Need to come up with something new.

I really like the blue w/the tree embossed in the background.

The orange one I don't know if is the computer color change happened, but the stamps have the red and the cord is the same red, but there is no orange on the card except the background. It is such a strong color, in that large an amount it is all I see. If you stamp some of the apples with green/yellow/orange it may work better w/the orange card.

I love the design, when am I getting mine!?! lol

There is actually pumpkin sponged behind the apples. But the card as a whole just didn't work for me, which is why I tried the blue one. pm me your addy and I'll mail you one.

Thanks for your feedback.

Default 3rd time's a charm?

Final revision on my faux postage card. I'm happy with these colors. This says Apples n honey, no? I'm also pleased with the second card. I hope I get enough folks to come to my SAS to make it worth it.

Wow the mojo is rockin' this week. Ever have something turn out just like you wanted it to? Even better? Well I just made this card for the daughter of some good friends who is being Bat Mitzvah'd this weekend. The inspiration is behind the card (her invitation). I used the Pebbles Pearlescent Chalks and it came out beautifully! DH was shocked when I said, "gee, this doesn't even need ribbon." The colors blend much better than it shows in the picture. It's very soft and shiny.

I just had to share this with people who "get it", kwim? Time to go study the Torah portions I'm reading at the Bat Mitzvah.

I just happened on your thread. Thanks for all the info on the Jewish Holidays. I just copied it to a friend. Her granddaughters boss is Jewish. Thought the info might help her understand more. I think that is y so many people are prejudice. They dont know the correct info... or dont want to know. I hope more people find your thread. Thxs...

Have any of you seen Hebrew letter chipboard or plates for a die cut machine? Wonder if they sell them in Israel? Surely people scrapbook there, no? I made name frames for the Hebrew School teachers (which were supposed to be end of year gifts in June, but oh well), and would really have like to use Hebrew letters.

I have seen Hebrew Ellison dies before. Check with big Hebrew Schools. They usually have them. Since I know you are nearby, I'll check with my Mom -- she teaches in Taunton -- and see if they have them. They are usually the big bulletin board size ones, though.
