I was wanting to look at the stamps at Daily Bread Designs. My computer recently upgraded itself to IE 8.0 and now I get a black screen with a red X in the corner and this button called "compatibility view" is "pressed" and a note says that some websites are designed for older browsers, etc. So can't I look at this website with IE 8.0? I've tried rebooting and it doesn't change! I can go to lots of other websites w/o any problem!
Any ideas?

Do you know any IT people? This recently happened at my office to my co-worker and it doesn't work with out accounting system. Our IT man was able to switch it back somehow.

I was so unhappy with IE8 I uninstalled it within a day. Apparently this is a common issue, and instructions on how to remove IE8 was easy to find with Google.
You can't open the e -velope link on Scor-Pal either and diana said to use Mozilla Firefox which I don't have/want.....everything else--including SCS is working fine with IE8.

I have had a few issues with IE8 - but I did succesfully go to Our Daily Bread with IE8. I only installed version 8 because one function I use everyday for work requires internet explorer.
For everything else, I use Firefox - SO much happier all the way around. There once was a link to Firefox on the home page because it's just so fewer hassles to deal with. Have you ever considered switching browsers? You can get started here. It's easy and you won't be sorry.
I don't know how much you can see, but I was having that problem on a local website. To the right of the address bar is a little link. If you hover over it, it says "Compatibility View" I think. Click that and the website should re-align itself.
dh installed IE8 on our computer. and he had problems with it too. But he deleted all his internet History and cookies. And it started working correctly.
Today I just emptied all of my cookies and Internet History and everything works good.
I've had problems with the page freezing, the X problem and things taking forever to load.
So I hope deleting my Cookies and History will do the trick!
