Question India Infused

I need a little help. The receptionist where I work is having an Indo-China themed wedding and I'm doing the favors. I have the Chinese part of the stamps. It's the India part I don't have so much of. Does anyone know where I can find India inspired stamps? I just can't seem to find any anywhere? Any help would be greatly appreciated?

I would try Judi-Kins, they have lots of images inspired by other countries and cultures, I seem to remember them having some henna hands, etc.

Well Sarah I doubt that u'll find any indian stamps..coz myself I havent seen any stamps here in India..but if U find some Block printing blocks..that might help u in creating a border wid them..

Either try to fnd some "doli"stamp--it is an indian auspicious vehicle where the bride is taken after the marriage is complete to her in-laws house..

Okay, it worked before! Go to their web site and type in the word "India" in the search box . . . several images come up. It is a mixture of American Indian and India (the country) themes but you might find something. I saw a pretty one of a lotus flower.

How about elephants. I have a stamp with three elephants decorated for a festival the way they are in India. You could combine something like that with some paisley. I can send you more info when I get home to see the manufacturer.

I am also looking at a tapestry I brought back from India and it has beautiful reds and yellows. I'll do some investigating and get back to you.

How about red card (or a coordinating color) embossed in the cuttlebug paisley folder and the embossing highlighted with galaxy gold Dew Drop ink that shimmers.

I ran across this set at Sunday international's website this morning. I have never used their stamps, so I have no idea of the quality of the images.

Lost Coast Stamps has a really detailed sheet of India stamps. Some are similar to the one at Sunday International, but more realistic looking.

Hi

Thanks for mentioning us.

To see ONLY the India stamps, go to Brwose by Themes, select section 32 India... 143 india related stamps will display.

We have 2 places where the groupings have been done by categories: Browse by Themes (general categories, for examples section 29 Asian - all Asian related and Favorite Searches where Japan has its own section and so does China.

Have Fun!
Catherine
