Default I'm so sad :(

I was so excited to find what I thought was the "I like it a latte" set on ebay. However, I didn't notice in the picture (nor did she divulge) that it's an incomplete set, and is missing the cup, the peppermint stick, and the heart :(

Any thoughts? Does someone have these 3 (or at the very least the cup, none of these do me ANY good without the cup) that they'd like to sell?

I would tell the seller about the set being incomplete. Perhaps she didn't know it was incomplete, but at the least she should have stated that it was. It can't hurt to contact her and she what she says.

If I would've looked very closely at the picture I would've seen that it wasn't complete. Not having owned this set before, I hadn't a clue how many pieces were in it, but she posted it as a set of 8. I'll contact her and see if, at the very least, she'd ship the cup.

Otherwise I would contact Paypal and file a item not as described - If she stated a set of 8 then sent an incomplete set this was not as described.
Personally I would take as far as I could to get a refund.
If you do get to return it - USE Delivery confirmation and insurance.

Amy your little darling is so cute.....just love that little face. I am sure you will get some satisfaction either from the seller or from Paypal.

I have had the same thing happen to me. I didn't do anything, but I wish I had at least tried. I just bought a different one! Not a good plan, but I really wanted the complete set. I also have bought here on SCS and wasn't told that the words were cut apart from the image and put on the side of the block which some people really like but I didn't for Kanji. I have learned to ask ask ask!!! And research! I would definitely contact the seller. However, if she will not do anything for you paypal has made it so expensive and such a hassle to return it might not even be worth going that route. It will really depend on how much you spent. Best of luck!

If the seller falsely represented the item for sale, I'm positive that there is recourse through PayPal and eBay. I've never had the bad luck to have to deal with it, but I think you should try. Please make sure to represent the transaction accurately in your feedback too so others don't get burned. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I hope you can get a satisfactory resolution!! Good luck.

I'm sorry this happened to you. Looking at what I assume is the correct auction, she did say that it was a set of 8 (doesn't the complete set come with 11?) and showed a clear picture of what you were bidding on. That is her defense. In your defense, she didn't bother mentioning that it wasn't a complete set but she probably figured you knew what you were bidding on. I'm sure you were just caught up in the excitement of finding something you really wanted for a good deal but its really important to always read the listings and check out the pictures closely. She may be willing to work with you, email her and see but she sold you exactly what was pictured so she might not budge. Good luck and keep us posted.

It was as described, she did list it as a set of 8. The regular set has 11 I believe.

I don't see how this was falsely represented, she stated it had 8 pieces. She just failed to mention it wasn't a complete set of 11. I don't know if the OP would have any luck with paypal since the seller sold what was pictured and described, the buyer just thought she was getting the complete set.

How did you make out? Have you contacted the seller yet?

You never know, she may give you a refund and relist the item. If she relists the item she may ask you to agree to 'cancel the transaction' in which case she will receive her final value fees back. Nothing goes against you for this, it's just a way of resolving the problem for both of you. If I was the seller this is how I would handle it

Let us know how you make out.

I just wanted to post an update on this. The seller agreed to look for the missing stamps in her stash, and was able to find (and agreed to send) the cup and the peppermint stick. So the only thing I'll be missing is the heart. I can deal with that.

Thanks for your help, suggestions, and empathy ;)

What's sad for her, it looks like the complete set of this is going for $40-$50 on ebay! I paid less than $10.

I'm looking at the completed auctions, and I see that one set went for $12... the highest completed auction in the last 2 weeks is an unmounted set that went for 21.56.

The fact that other sellers have it listed for buy it now at 39.99 and 59.95 doesn't mean it's selling at that price.
