I would like to talk to someone about being a demo.. My demo is not interested in recruiting, and she's not giving a positive attitude for me being a demo.
Is she not wanting to loose me as a customer?? LOL

This is quite possible. My demo always made negative comments about me becoming a demo - turns out I was her best customer and she didn't want to loose those sales. Over time I decided that I was going to do it anyways and found someone else to sign under. I thought it was very selfish of her to not encourage me and I'm still a little hurt by it.
There are plenty of willing and happy demos who would take you under their wings and answer all of your questions.
I totally enjoy making cards as much as I enjoy receiving them. I didn't know how nice it was to receive a hand-made card until I started helping with coaster orders.
It seems weird not to encourage someone to be your downline if they are interested. Consultants can get a bad name because of stuff like this going on.

You're going to do what you're going to do so it's sort of wrong of her not to encourage you, even if she doesn't want any recruits (not everybody does) and she probably is worried about the affect on her sales.
Go to the demo locator and find some demos near you and interview them until you find one you think is a good match. Good luck to you and now is a great time to sign on during Sellabration! Extra stamps sets for you!
All the "techniques" per se are here on SCS for everyone to see. The demo side does have a gallery that is just for business ideas - stuff to make at workshops, etc.
In your upline search, ask if they (or their upline) offer classes for their downline.
With SU, you make 20% the night of the workshop. You also can get a commision check from SU depending on your sales for the month. We get 20% off of our orders. They have a promotion for us demos called consistency counts and for every quarter that we do $300.00 per month for the entire month we can earn a free $24.95 stamp set of our choice. This runs until the end of June. We have another progam called great rewards where if you do 1000.00 in sales per quarter you can pick from a list of free items some are catalog items and other are buisness items. There is a $300.00 minimum that you have to meet each quarter to stay a demo. I love being a demo, if you have any other questions please ask, there are plenty of demos on this site that would be willing to answer your questions.
Angela
A little correction to Angela's post - you have to hit $300 each month for the QUARTER to get the free set. Once your sales get above $400 in a month you earn an additional 5% on your entire sales that month.
The hostess credits/sets do NOT come out of your pocket - they are all from SU.
But offering classes and workshops IS a lot of work, so you want to make sure it's right for you and something you want to do. You can, of course, become a demo just to buy for yourself and drop whenever you can't or don't want to make the minimums anymore. You still get to keep everything you've bought up to that point and there's no charge or penalty for dropping.
I know that selling on ebay is a nono.. and I do not intend on selling on ebay. I just wanted to say that before I say this ...
There is product on ebay that is well below 20% such as Ink Spots and just don't know how it can be done. I've ordered a set of ink spots January 7th and I still have not received them yet. I have sent several emails to the seller and she has not returned my emails. I'm getting concerned. Do you think that maybe she lost $ selling them and is having problems filling my order? Thing is though.. I paid $84.00 including shipping to get them. Wouldn't I have been better off buying them from myself as a demo?
$300 for each month in a quarter being Retail or after demo commission?
I've spent almost that each month with her so far.. no wonder she wouldn't want to loose me.
Retail. So if you're buying just for yourself, you would be spending only $240, plus tax and ship.
Your experience on Ebay (and I hope it still works out for you) is one of the major pitfalls of buying SU on Ebay - you have absolutely no recourse through a demo or SU if you don't receive something or it is damaged or not to your liking. If it's a demo selling it, she knows that's against her contract and she also takes the risk that it won't sell for her cost (although if she sells a ton of this stuff, her costs go down because she is doing great volume - it's still wrong though.)
But it could be from another customer who just wants to unload them. I hope it works out.

I'm assuming you were buying all 48 colors of ink spots at 21.50 a set. If this is the case then yes you would have been better off buying them as a demonstrator because you would have gotten 20% off of that and you would have had to pay s&h but it still would have been less than $84.00.

Looks like I was asking this.
There are additional, higher, commissions based on your monthly sales. I'm no longer a demo but I believe they go as high as 40% if your sales reach 1000. I could be wrong on these details so please ask a local demo (I suspect you've received some PMs with a ton of additional info too).
