Last night I organized my craft space to make use of the photo boxes I bought Sunday for my supplies.
After I freed up some shelf space, I decided to group all of my unopened card- stock together on a shelf. I had it in 4 different places because of space. But when I put in all on the shelf, I discovered that I had 53 packs of unopened card-stock. I feel like such a hoarder.
I believe I need to go to paper anonymous in the worst way
Not to worry its not perishable. lol In my case it seems to be ribbon. If I am in Michael's with a coupon and cant find what I want I will use my coupon for ribbon. Of course I still never seem to have the right one when I need it.
53 packs of paper sounds like barely a good start.
I store paper in the 12x 12 Artbin containers currently. I have a stack of those under a 6 ft table and I have paper stacked on top of the table. I have 12 x 12 paper near my Silhouette and in my stamp room I have both GP white, Neenah and Cougar? white I bought I believe from Marco's. I just came home from Michaels with a package of Recollections 110lb white because of a post on Splitcoast. I also bought kraft and black in the 65lb paper while I was there. I couldn't tell you how many different brands and styles of art paper I own. As long as I keep it dry, it won't ruin and I'll find something to do with it.

If you don't use the designer paper much on cards, get yourself the Envelope Punch Board and make envelopes with it. Almost any design looks nice as an envelope!

Your just a young pup yet...compared to many of us here.... It does get very addictive. I started with Stamps, and I have way too many, some that have never touched ink! Then I went on to embellishments, and then of course ...the paper. I have every colour of SU papers times 3-5 pkgs, cause you don't want to run out. Then of course there are all the beautiful scrapbook papers 12x12 pads etc, that I use my Michaels' coupon for. I have 10 of the 12x12 square plastic paper keepers, each with a different colour scheme. It's an illness we crafters suffer from....but I don't drink or smoke...so this is my vice

Got the envelope punch...do envelopes for every card I make..still have a serious whack of paper and a serious addiction! LOL Good idea though.
I think all of us crafter have this problem. I have to buy several packs of the same paper, so I don't run out, but then I look at and think it's too pretty to use, same as ribbons, I need every stamp that was ever made, but I only use some of them, I sometimes think of this as my addiction, but it could be worse. I wish I could part with some my stuff, but I look at it and think, I'll use it one day!
Oh how I love this thread!!!! Makes me feel right at home!
When my kids "cleaned up" my garage while I was away, organizing my crafting supplies, I knew I was in trouble when my DSIL commented about how could I have so much "white" paper, some even still in packages!!! When we all laughed as I explained the need, he got a scared look as he said, oops I'm in trouble!!! - I may have thrown some of it out!!! No one ever knows how much we need, do they??? hee hee
I was there but I'm reformed. I found that all I wanted to use was the new goodies and so much of what I hoarded is no longer my style. I've been using up stuff and not replacing it and I feel so much better. I sold what I could and gave away the rest.
I still buy but instead of paper or oodles of stamps, I'm using the "paper fund" to buy dies and mixed media supplies (gels, paints, etc.). I went to a stamp convention this weekend and I only bought 4 sentiment stamps and 4 dies, and a 6x6 paper pack. In 2 weeks I'm going to a stamping retreat and that will test my inner hoarder because there will be loads of new stuff I'm going to "need". LOL

Good for you on being reformed. I wish I was at that point.
Did you go to the Stamp Convention at Scottish Rite? I was there Saturday afternoon. I didn't buy too much. Thank goodness.

What did make me feel like a real hoarder while at the convention was that I own almost all the stuff that they were using for the demos/make and takes. A lot of the current trends are techniques from the past that have again become the "in" thing. It's like it goes through a cycle and I was there the first time and all that stash is in my craft closet. I'd better use the supplies this time around.

I was there in the morning. I noticed the same thing about the trends. Nothing really new for me either. A lot of the stamp and die styles are not my style - too frilly/girly or kid related. Maybe that's a good thing. :-P:-P The best part was I saw a lot of stamping buddies I hadn't seen in awhile.
