So I'm making a set of 20 vintage tags and I need some ideas. I have the DCWV Mademoiselle stack and the Lady Couture set. They are large tags like luggage tags. I've already backed them with polka dot patterned paper and I have some vintage ladies that I'm going to stick on the back of them, but I'm trying to figure out what other embellishments or stamps I can use on the tags. Any ideas will help.
Oh, I want that Lady Couture set!
That one makes me think of traveling with a steamer trunk, perhaps on an ocean liner such as the Queen Mary, with a stop in New York where Art Deco was the design of choice in the 1930s and 1940s.
Think straight lines, lots of black embossing, some gold leaf, embossing, perhaps a couple elaborate metal buttons. Vintage post mark stamp might be nice, too.
The other one has ladies of a much earlier era. Perhaps some lightly tea-dyed lace, white or ivory buttons, floral stamp, or a punch that gives a hankie edge.
I'm good at dreaming about using the papers, but if I actually had to sit down and do it, I'd have a problem. What I see in my head never turns out the same in reality. <sigh>
@Melissa- I got it at M's for 11.99 - I knew I wanted to use it for the tags but I wasn't sure what else would go along with it. Thanks so much for the ideas!
SU has some great sets for vintage looks right now that I'm loving: Nature Walk for more natural elements, French Foliage for the script and the postmark, Established Elegance has a dress form, key and other vintage looks, and I love the retired Travel Post and Artifacts.
Here's a masculine vintage tag I did the other day as a bookmark Mark's Tag
And here's a collage card I did featuring some of the stamp sets I was talking about. Inspired Bird Collage
Hope you have fun with your tags! I've seen that image at M's and been mighty tempted to pick it up!
@buggainok- Thanks!

My Michael's doesn't have it. Maybe it will be in stock in a few weeks. I'm setting aside a $20 bill just for that pack 'cause I REALLY want it. :-)
I love that tag and the card! You did a really great job. I'll check out those SU stamp sets! Thanks for letting me know about them.

It was on clearance, both of them actually. It was on the aisle with the embellishments, tucked under them on the bottom shelf (IDK if someone was trying to hide it - sorry to that person lol- or if M's didn't want people to get the deal lol). The only way I found it was because I saw it in there before and I was on a mission to get it. I looked high and low stalking all aisles lol. If I hadn't already cut out both sheets of the lady I would have saved you a sheet- Sorry. I hope you do find them, if not, you should ask if they're on clearance and maybe they'll help you look.
