Default I know many of you already have many SU ink pads BUT.....

I'm in the process of building up my SU stash again (sold it a few years ago)

I've already bought about 15 ink pads, maybe? Along with their matching marker (if available).

Now I'm curious if I should have bought the re-inkers also? I've been reading about how the need to re-ink your ink pads is greater now with the new pads. Is this correct? Just really don't feel like placing an big ole order with just re-inkers. LOL

It is true that the new ink pads give off more ink each time you stamp and so it does seem like you need to reink them more often. I've had to reink one of my pads since getting it in June during the preorder, though I found that I didn't need to use as much reinker as I've used in the past. I know some folks are recommending that when you buy the ink pad get the reinker as well. If you just bought the new pads in the last couple months, I don't think you need to race out and get reinkers immediately, but I would consider picking some up next time you order.

I just starting getting the new pads a few at a time and am forcing myself to get reinkers at the same time I get the pads. Usually I greedily opt to get another color pad instead of getting reinkers.

But the new pads are so juicy I was kind of expecting to have to reink them more often, so thanks Jennifer for the info.

I do not buy full size pads, just spots and dew drops, but I will not buy a pad with out the inker for it, it's a set, a pair and a must have!...You can always use a dry blender pen to make a marker with an re-inker, but you can't re-ink the pad with a marker!

I don't have the new pads. I have the last model. I bought the reinkers before I bought the pads. I am pretty good at listening to advice but that is the one advice I did not take when I got into stamping was to buy the reinkers to go with the ink pads. I thought I would get bored with the colors. Seriously, that was my reasoning. Well, that reasoning bit me back. I had a whole lot of stamp pads, no reinkers and no way to get reinkers for my pads because they were odd brands. When I decided on SU I bought the markers and reinkers first. Grew my ink pad collection slowly. I was able to make some of my own SU ink pads with the reinkers. Of course I could use the markers to color on my stamps.

I also bought the reinkers when I bought the pads, except for the recently retired in colors. the I'm actually kicking myself because I did not get the reinkers for them, because they were already sold out when I wanted them.

Karen, you are absolutely right. This is the way to think about it. It's taken me until now to get it, but it's so obvious.
