I just had to post here because I went a little crazy...
...and I know you all will understand!
I went to my first Stampin Up party a few weeks ago. I immediately fell in love with stamping and ordered a whole bunch of supplies. That night, being the ebay junkie that I am, I went online and started searching out sets. Of course, I bid on a bunch!
Well, I just got my order and some sets in the mail as well. It's just so exciting! I love the Greetings Galore set -- the flowers on "just because I care" are so cute and easy to stamp! Notable Notes is nice as well -- especially the birthday cake and the Thanks heart. Every night my daughter and I have each made a card and I just spent the last fifteen minutes mounting some of my new stamps.
I can't believe how addicted I am already! And to top it all off, I had a visit from my demo today, who brought me...a demo packet! I signed up -- I'm only going to be a hobby demo, at least for now, but I figure I'm definitely going to buy at least enough each month to make my minimums for quite some time. After all, I have only one set of ink (Spots in Soft Subtle). And one set of markers (ditto). And I need more card stock...and more stamps!
Anyway, I just had to share. Thanks for listening!
You sound so excited!! I have been stamping about 10 years and the excitment is still there. Its a great hobby and I have made many great friends as well. I got 2 sets Saturday and I was still as thrilled about receiving them as I was years ago. Maybe even more.
Started about 2 years ago myself and I am still fighting becoming a rep, simply because I am having so dang much fun now, I don't want anything to take any of the play out of it yet.... My catalog has so many sticky tabs marking my favorites that it looks like it is dogearred from years of use instead of 8 months. Well the best news really is finding this sight and these nice people that love sharing and helping.
Again welcome and we want details when your starter set arrives of the fun that comes with it. I can't imagine getting all of that stuff at one time. I am a "true" addict at this point and wonder when it will GO AWAY. Hasn't yet come even close to fading.
Re: I just had to post here because I went a little crazy...
please please tell me you at least had your catty next to you when you did that! sooo many people pay way too much!
Yes, I did! I only bid on one current set and scoped out completed auctions on the other before deciding on my max price.
I can't believe what some people bid on things! Pay full price for something that's current in the catalog, and then you have to pay $5-$6 S/H on top of that? Now THAT'S crazy! :-) (Unless you live somewhere that you can't get SU directly from a demo, o'course.)
Congratulations on signing up! Just think....now you can get all the goodies at a discount!!!
As for joining SCS, welcome to our cult, I mean happy place! You think
you're JUST addicted to stamping...heh, heh! Guess again!
I THOUGHT I was addicted after my first Creative Mem. party but THEN I went to a SU party!!!! It was love at first sight!! My first sets were Hydrangea and What's Brewin' (I just love that one!) I started with a few ink pads as well. NOW, I have my own stamping room, and 1 wall FULL of stamps and supplies. I can have just as much fun organizing my stuff w/o even stamping with it!!
Now I need to find some more friends who like to stamp. I would love to have friends over in my stamping room!
Be prepared for a fun and yes, expensive ride but I don't even THINK about that. I can't remember when I have ever been this passionate about a personal hobby! Welcome!
By the way, I'm thinking of changing my username. I just found out that I'm going to be a grandmother and need something that isn;t so "teenager-ish"??

I don't think your username is teenager-ish at all, Aimee! Is it Java as in coffee or computers?

Non-sense You're only as old as you feel. And congratulations on the grandbaby!
Welcome, Anne, to the awesome addictive world of stamping. I've been stamping for about 10-12 years and I found SU about 8 years ago. I'm TOTALLY into SU. The only thing that keeps me from being a demo is saturation here in Utah. I would so be a demo if I lived anywhere else. SU ROCKS!!!!! Anyway, welcome to the best, happiest, most creative place EVER for us stamping folk. The nicest people come here.
Hey Aimee, I have a DD named Aimee. She's Aimee Kathleen. Congrats on your grandbaby to come. I don't think Java gurl is too young. I think it's cute and fun!!!
Kim
Welcome! About this time last year, I was a brand-new scrapbooker. I went to my first crop night, and a lady was stamping. I remember watching her thinking "that is way too much work!!" Now, a year later, I have almost as many stamps as my demo! And I just sent my paperwork in to become a demo, myself!
