Default I have the Snowman marshmallow peeps!

I found them yesterday at my local supermarket. I was so excited to find them so I can make the smores packs for Chrisrtmas goodie gifts.

I made a dozen of those snowman smores kits for a local craft fair. Didn't sell a single one. People looked at them and said - "ewww peeps! Can't stand those"

I got mine a few weeks ago at Target - on the bottom shelf in the Christmas section - $1.29 pkg. I thought about waiting to see if I could find them elsewhere at a better price but decided better get them when I seen them - have 18 more to bag - (making 45) they look adorable in the plastic treat bags with snowflakes on them that I got at Dollar Tree...........

I googled this because it sounded like a cute idea. And it is! Has anyone actually made the recipe? Are they any good? :-)

Can someone link me to the Peeps in a jar recipe? I haven't been here for a while and I seem to have forgotten my way around. I searched the gallery but didn't find what I was looking for.

I love the idea of the little smore kits with the peep snowmen for kids in my daughter's class, but the school has a policy that anything that is sent in for the kids (whether for class parties, gifts, birthdays) has to be in the original sealed store container. All cupcakes, cookies, etc. have to be store bought/made and in the original container. I've done snowman soup stuff in the past but that was after searching forever to find the individually sealed packs of marshmallows. I love seeing all the adorable things other people make with the peeps, though. I've been able to make them as little things for my family and close friends, but nothing for the kids at school (the ones who would love to have them the most!)

Really, they don't like peeps? I love peeps. My favorites are the yellow ducks at Easter, don't know why but they taste better than the others.

If this link doesn't work, go to the gallery, search "peep jars" and the recipe is in one with a Halloween theme.

Thanks to the OP! My nieces and nephews like getting peep jars and I haven't given them any for awhile. Guess I'll be picking up peeps on my next trip to the store.

I don't know how to add an attachment, but if you go to the Galley, type "Snowman Peeps" in the search box. Several ideas show up. HTH.

Oh my... am I the only one who thinks this is a sad statement of affairs! Kids can't bring homemade goodies to school anymore?!? Seriously.. that's just wrong. Everyone is afraid of being sued and being politically correct anymore that holiday celebrations just aren't as much fun as they used to be! Pretty soon this world is going to be a boring place where everything needs to be neutral and in shades of grey just to ensure we don't affend anyone. I say bring back the homemade goodies and let the kids have fun with their Snowman Smores! Kids shouldn't have to be in fear of eating some homemade treats made by their classmates . I'm saddend to think that we've reached a point that we are in fear of someone poisining our kids with cupcakes and little snowman peeps!

I know it's a bummer, BUT, there is a legitimate reason for their insistence on pre-packaged goodies only, that actually has nothing to do with offending anyone or political correctness.

In defense of schools, the reality is that they do have children/students who suffer from serious and in some cases, fatal, peanut allergies, and if officials do not know precisely what ingredients are in the home-made goodies, a young child's health could be placed at serious risk.

I don't have a child with peanut allergies myself, but I am a former school teacher, and a parent. My son has had a child in his class that suffers from fatal peanut allergies, since kindergarten.

Teachers and school officials do have to be very vigilant about food items. So, while it may slightly dampen the fun of bringing goodies to school, in the grand scheme of things, better safe than illness or potential death of a child, UKWIM?

I know - I was thinking of making them for teachers and have to find the indivisually wrapped ones as well - I figured maybe individual packof peeps, pack of teddy grahams or two and a hersheys bar or hersheys kisses - trying to figure out how to make that look presentable - !

I totally understand why everything has to be packaged these days but isn't it sad we have gotten to that point? I made all kinds of chocolate suckers when my children were growing up. Many a time they were treats at school for their Christmas parties.

For those of you who do not like Peeps. Kraft makes a gingerbread marshmellow in the shape of a gingerbread boy. I made 50 s'more pkgs using these and they are adorable! Plus the spice in the gingerbread marshmellow is great in the s'mores.

GET OUT!!! I'm on the hunt for these!!!

I spied snowman shaped French Vanilla marshmallows last night at WalMart. We were in a hurry, tho, so I didn't stop to buy them. But, I'm going back into town today.

Just returned from the new Super Target in town, with a couple of boxes of the snowmen peeps. I'll make them either for stocking stuffers for my nieces and nephews or to hand out in the office. Just a little something really cute. Now I see I will have to go to Walmart to look for the gingerbread version- yummmmmo!

Those gingerbread marshmallows are sooooooooo good. I have gone thru, insert eaten, 2 bags in the attempt to have enough to make gingerbread rice krispie treats.

Could you tell me what kind of stocking stuffers you make with these. Sounds fun--thanks in advance, Deanna

when my nieces & nephews are born i choose a "collection" for each. some of them are mittens, gingerbread men, rudolph, penguins, snowmen, snowflakes, snowglobes ,etc.
each year i had to their collection. for abby's 1st christmas i made her a huge mitten instead of a stocking. she 's now 13 and has used it each year. for emily's gingerbread men collection i have painted a huge pail w/ theme and filled w/ baking items to match. she is now 17yrs. i've made my share of snowmen ornaments. peguins are the hardest. sad to say most are store bought. but i try to add something to each.
each year i make & my candies & cookies in each theme. these also go in the stocking. i keep my eyes peeled all year and no matter what type of store i'm in i look around. 1 year i found spatulas & scissors in a couple of themes.
i love looking, making things for each. i feel when you move out on your own nothing is sadder than not having "christmas" i your own place.
