Exclamation How to unmount wooden stamps

I would like to know the best and easiest way to unmount wooden stamps. How to prepare them for mounting on the clear blocks, also.

Best way to unmount them fromt the wooden blocks is to put them in the microwave for 7-10 SECONDS. This will soften the adhesive enough that you should just be able to peel the rubber and foam off the wood.

There are several methods of mounting them to acrylic blocks. It would be best to read some of the lengthy threads discussing this topic.

Click on search on the right top of your screen. In the box that appears, type unmounted or unmounting. A bunch of different threads will come up. Look for the ones from the General Stamping Talk or Tools and Product Talk forums and click on those.

Good luck.

Smile unmounting wooden stamps

I'm taking mine off the blocks one set at a time. I use a flat edge of acutting knife and pry up one edge moving across the block....It works well for me. I then use the edge to pry under the clear picture on top of the block and stick it right on the back (the grey foam) which still had sticky stuff.

Then a little Alene's Tack It Over and Over in the middle of the stamp on top of the shiny picture. I leave the edges clean and it helps when I remove the stamp from a clear acrylic block after stamping with it and cleaning it.

Just in case this happens to be the mamoo I knew in high school, this is from Sally from Girl Scouts and GHS. I've never seen that moniker for anyone else.

Ok, I just lost that message I typed. Let me try again.

I have been unmounting some of my non-SU stamps over the past couple weeks. I have a few stamps that, even after I microwave them and attempt to pull the rubber and foam off, it just starts to tear the foam all up. These particular stamps have foam that is either white, pink, green or black. Any suggestions for these?
