Default How to tea bag gifty thingie.

Sorry about the vagueness but I don't know what to call it. I am trying to duplicate an adorable tea bag holder that I could give as Christmas gifts but I don't know how to do one of the steps. The pictures below will show you what I mean. The part that I can't figure out is how to punch the tabs on the project that hold the bag. The tabs are half a circle. If you need more pictures let me know because I have 2 more. Thanks so much

I think those half circles are made with an SU punch, but I don't own it and can't remember the name of it. Maybe someone who has it will post the name.

I think it's a 'thumb' or 'thumb notch' punch. Various companies make them.

Hope I'm allowed to post this link:

If you have the Creative Memories Circle cutting set, I think that would work for cutting half circles. I don't have mine anymore, but the swivel cutter for coluzzle might work.

There's also a tool from Basic Grey, Notch and Die tool, I think it's called. It cuts a half circle like that, but like the slot punch, I'm not even sure if it's still available.

Wrong! This cuts a chunk out of the edge of the paper. It is indeed a slit punch!

Well, it's still available, but pricey. The advantage it has over the punch, and the reason I still have mine, is that you can position it anywhere on the card.

Ooops - I see it actually says discontinued AND out of stock on that link. I hate it when shops keep stuff they're never going to get again as a current listing.
But there are some on eBay:

"Push comes to shove"....simply trace a half circle and cut it out with an x-acto knife. That is a lot of money to pay for a punch that may only get used once!

I did 75 pocketfold wedding invitations that had a slit in one part. I cut the slit by hand and punched tiny holes at each end...worked for me and looked so professional.

Default Thank you

I love this idea and I have found the one on Ebay. Looking for one that I don't have to bid on.
