Please forgive me if I missed it, but I am looking for the instructions for spotlighting. I saw some beautiful examples in the gallery as I searched for new ways to use the few sets that I already have. I managed to do one a couple nights ago, but there must be an easier way! Please just send the link if it is already here and I missed it!
thank you

I don't know if there are official instructions, but what I've peiced together is :
make 2 images of the same stamp, cut a peice out of one & color (or decorate) it, outline the edge with black & glue it over the other image. Does that sound like what you did? I can't remember where I found those instructions, but that is it in a nutshell...
There was a challenge for this - Technique Lovers Challenge 06, listed on April 3. I don't know how to post a link, but I just checked and there are instructions and also examples. (This one is right now found on page 2 of the Monday challenges.) Or do a gallery search of TLC06 for examples. Hope this helps.
thanks for the reminder - I have been meaning to try this again.
Thanks, Dorothy, for letting us know where to find the info. Here is one tip on how to find the Technique Lovers Challenge 06. (...aside from using the Search function and searching for TLC06, of course! )
To see older threads, just change the Display Options like so:
I changed it to 1 year, for example, and then clicked on page 2 and found it.

Now, to post the link here's what you do. I start by opening a new window with the page to which I want to link. In the url address box (the one at the top which starts with http://, highlight the whole 'address' and copy it ( for PC: ctrl + c /// for mac: apple + c ). Then, go to wherever you want to paste it, in this thread, for example. There are 2 ways to paste a link.
#1. The "Do it yourself way"...that's what I call it!
[ URL=InsertTheCopiedhttp://AddressHere] the 'title' of the link [ /url] (without the spaces after *each* square bracket).
#2. *If* you are in "Enhanced Interface (if not, DON'T FRET ABOUT IT!) - Full WYSIWYG Editing mode" you will see an Earth with a chainlink. Click on it like so:
Type the 'title' or subject of the link.
Click OK.
PASTE your address which you copied in the 2nd box which pops up.
My thoughts are that there are two different ideas out there some use the same name for both:
1)Spotlighting - Stamping an image in black and then coloring in only a section. Some use the Simple Shapes and color within the circle or rectangle. I've also seen people stamp two images and punch out a shape and color it then place it directly over the same place on the black/white image.
2)Highlighting - Stamping in black two images, punching out a shape, coloring it, then matting it on a color and sticking it back down.
Please note that they technique names are my own way of separating the two techniques and I'm not really sure that they are correct.
HTH,
Amy
