Hi! I haven't ordered from the Holiday Mini yet, and I am having trouble deciding what to buy. I like all of the stamps, but hope to pick a few that may be in next year's IB&C.
I thought it might be fun to try to guess which stamps were most popular from this catty, as a fun way to get an idea!
I'd say Curvy Verses is going to be very popular, and, although I won't buy it (I just don't think it's versatile enough.), Bundle Up will probably be a hit.
Oops! I misread the original post and thought it was refering to the winter mini!
From the Holiday Mini, I'd definitely agree with those who posted after me that Loads of Love will be a hit and make it into the 2005 catalog.

i also think the swirling stars will make it. i also think happiest of holidays with the poinsettia wheel will make it. (or i hope so anyway!). Loads of love and web wishes are two others that i think will make it.
I agree with all of the above!! Loads of Love is really versatile and different. The bugs are always cute and really popular, so Web Wishes makes the list. And the wheels matching the Happiest of Holidays set really works well and is great for upselling.
An SU! demo on here (I forget who, sorry!) stated that most of the sets in the mini catalogs that have matching wheels eventually do get in to the big catalog. I checked back a few mini catalogs last year and they were right! So, I think it is a pretty safe bet that Loads of Love and Happiest of Holidays (THREE matching wheels!) will probably get into the IBC (catalog!) I am hoping so, anyway!
Well, here's my two cents ( I really have been thinking too much about spinner cards!)... I think we are going to find more of the sets from the minis in the catalog...maybe not the ones that bomb out. I have yet to see a card with "A Child is Born" that I thought was great...and I love nativity sets. The reason I think we will see more of what is in the Mini Cats is because I think they went WAY overboard with shape stamps in this catalog and they need to add more of a variety of picture sets like those in the minis. I love Yuletide Montage and Happiest of Holidays from the Holiday Mini... From the the Winter Mini I love the Collage Alphabet and Curvy Verses...but I bet most of them make it in!
I am thrilled to see that you guys like Loads of Love! As a demo, I really hate to buy things in the minis unless I absolutely love them! I absolutely loved Loads of Love, therefore I bought it. I also like Holiday (oh the one with three mathching wheels), but am unsure if it will make it into the catalog. I love the cards I have seen with that set though and the wheels add sooooo much. Hopefully, everyone will keep adding their thoughts on this matter.
I actually think we are going to see less of the mini catalog stamp sets make and appearance in future IB&Cs. Not because they aren't great sets, but because the IB&C has less room for seasonal stamp sets. The sets in the new and improved mini catalogs, with tons of great new sets each quarter, simply cannot be added in the same proportion as with the old mini catalogs, or else (1) the IB&C added lots of new pages each year to accomodate so many new sets in the mini catalogs; (2) most (like over half) of the "new" sets in each year's IB&C were actually old mini sets; (3) each year at least half of each seasonal section was retired to make room for not only old mini sets, but the new "new" sets.
I really think they are trying to make the purchase of seasonal stamp sets more seasonal to make room for all year sets.
With that said, I suspect Loads of Love and the Happiest of Holidays, along with the coordinating wheels, will probably show up. But this year I am taking no chances because we just don't know how the company will treat the mini catalogs now that there are so many new sets each quarter.

Oh, Ms. Jennifer, I think you are probably right! EEKKKK! I can definitely tell you are a lawyer; you're argument is so clear and concise. So I will probably not buy the Holiday stamp set with three coordinating wheels.
A few of my avid customer complained that too many of the mini catalog sets were in the '04-'05 IB&C and not enough "new" sets. You see, they had already purchased MANY of the sets offered through the seasonal promotions. has this happened to anyone else? Will the foks at Su Hdqtrs think about this before choosing sets? I have a feeling they will and go with more versatile, all-year sets.
Just a thought.....
See, and here I thought just the opposite! What a great way for SU to spread out the big buying sprees by introducing more of the seasonal sets that will be in the new catalog. This mini has by FAR the most truly seasonal sets we'll see, and how many of us purchased more than one holiday set when the new IB&C came out? Not me. But from the mini? (I already had the set I was making my cards from this year, and I'm up to 2 sets and 5 wheels.)
Sure, not everything will make it in. But this is such a great way for SU to not have to put everything into the IB&C immediately. Yes, I do think there will be lots of additions. Maybe a woodcut flowers/leaves set that compliments the style of the Happiest of Holidays and its three wheels? (You KNOW you want a round flower and another leaf wheel to use with those swirls.) But if they do that, wouldn't it be silly to not have the holiday set?
As for things like backgrounds and alphabets. As someone has already said, alphabets seem to make it in often, and as we all know, most customers can't afford 5 new alphabets at once. Or even 5 background stamps at once. But teasing them out over the course of 5 catalogs? That's only one per catalog (4 minis plus the IB&C).
I know many people (and I include myself in this) go on a big buying binge when the new catty comes out. But wouldn't those of us longtime addicts like knowing that most of our "friends" from the minis would be there for the next year? Even if that does mean that sets move through the IB&C faster? I can see the argument that this would cut down on the "buy it now" aspect of the minis, but except for Spring, the IB&C launch date is a long way away, and that truck (to use Loads of Love as an example) is pulling away fast.
