Up at 5:30 a.m. to scope out the deals and no ad from Hobby Lobby?
Did they wait until Friday morning last year to put out their ad? I even looked online. All you can find is the ad from last Saturday and 40% off coupons. I don't have the budget this year to "shop," but you like to see what's going on.
Last year they had scrapbook page kits for $2.99. They came with paper, embellishments, stickers, rhinestones...just a whole slew of stuff for that price. Really a great deal. Couldn't buy the rhinestones alone for that amount of money. I bought several sets to use the components for card-making.
Does anyone have recollection of this being Hobby Lobby's standard practice? Wait until Friday? By the time the paper is delivered, people will be out shopping or on their way.
I talked to the folks at Hobby Lobby and they assure me that THERE IS NO SPECIAL AD OR SALES FOR BLACK FRIDAY. Weird. I reminded them of the deal on scrapbook page kits last year, so the clerk double-checked with management and they said, "Nope, no special anything." Huh.
Locally, we won't have a paper on Thursday. No delivery that day.
I know those clerks pretty well. Up until last month [when I was put on a craft spending budget of "0." LOL], they were used to seeing me almost everyday. I think they would have told me if there were at least going to be specials and just not tell me what they were. Well....only tomorrow will tell. But...
Menards [home improvement store] is going to have Cricut Cartridges for $12.99. Limit 8 each!
I worked there last holiday season and we didn't have any specials for Friday. Whatever was on sale for the week was what was on sale for Friday. Needless to say, it was NOT a busy day!
I don't think they ever had a Black Friday ad. Least I can't recall one. I think they do a regular ad for Thanksgiving week and then put in a few specials. I was looking at HL ad this week and it seems to be all Christmas items on sale but hardly any craft items.
There's a Hobby Lobby ad in our newspaper this morning, but it's identical to the one that was in Sunday's paper. Good for them, I say! (I'm a "bah humbug" girl about Black Friday - sorry) There is a coupon. CLICK HERE for a link to it.
I don't see the need for a Black Friday ad for Hobby Lobby. I think that they have great sales and coupons that you can use year round. I would rather have that 40-50% off nearly every week. I stayed home this morning anyway to make my Christmas cards.
