Default Help! What ink to use on Stampendous clear stamps?

I just inked up my new clear Flower Chat stamp from Stampendous, and the ink (I used black Stazon) did not totally print on my paper. I cleaned the stamp and used a white eraser on it. When I inked it up, the same thing happened again. The ink looks great while it's on the stamp, but is not coming off totally on my paper. Am I using the wrong ink? I want to use my SU markers, so was afraid my black SU ink would run. Any suggestions?

I use LOTS of Stampendous acrylic stamps and almost always use VersaFine or VersaColor inks, never with any problems...

I have a few clear stamps also and had the same problem.
I rubbed the stamp on my litte sandpaper thingy I use to sand down the paper stumps for Gamsol use.
That helped. I had to do it a couple of times. I've heard people talk about it before. I guess sometimes the clear stamps need to be "roughed up" a little.
Hope this helps!!

I have found that if I use a piece of Fun Foam to stamp on I get a much clearer and solid image. I use the thin ones that cost about $.49 cents at Joanns. It really made a difference for me.
This is the inks I use. I absolutely "Love" all of their inks.

I use lots of clear stamps, all brands, cheap and not so cheap. I've found the best ink is pigment ink. I use Versafine Onyx and get crisp clear images without having to "rough" up my stamps.

I've tried to rough up the stamp some more and I used the fun foam, but the image still isn't coming off well. Guess I'll have to get some Versafine the next time I get out of town, but I want to use the stamp set NOW!

If you have a versamark pad - trying using that stamping off (don't clean it) and then re-inking with the colour (using the fun foam etc) and see if that helps... I did this by accident once and now I try to do it everytime because it seems to help the stamp by conditioning it.

When I use my Stampendous clear stamps, I always seem to turn to my Fresco chalk inks, which work beautifully! And the nice thing is you can stamp an outline with the Frescos and then use watercolors inside and it won't bleed.

HTH!

VersaFine is the best ink! The image is always dark. To watercolor it or to use markers, just heat set and it won't smear

Before I use the clear stamps I take a white eraser and rub it on them. Takes off the gunk that comes on them. After I started doing this I can use any ink to stamp them. I normally use Palette Hybrid on my stamps.

Certain brands need a little "conditioning" before they stamp properly. I try my stamp first, if it doesn't stamp crisply, I always rough it up a little with some fine grit sandpaper. Just lightly rub it over the image before stamping, it should be good to go from then on.

This is an interesting thread as I've been having the same problem with stayzon ink and thought I was doing something wrong. This happens with all my stamps not just the clear type. I rarely get a good impression with it. I find that versafine works perfectly on the same stamps first time, every time so perhaps it isn't the rubber needing to be roughed up? I've tried the watercolour test on versafine and found that it resists water dependent upon the card I use to stamp on. If the card has a very smooth surface the ink runs but on a slightly rougher texture it's fine. The tip above to heat set is a great one (thank you for that) and I'll try that for my smoother card.

I've used Memories black & other colors, india ink, palette noir, encore pigment, archival pigment and have never "conditioned, roughed up, used an eraser" or any of the great suggestions given here. I just take the image out and use it. Lot of Stampendous Perfectly Clear & HA clear in my house. Without stating the obvious, you did apply even pressure to the block, right? Haven't ever tried Stazon I must admit.
