Hello Ladies, I haven't been on here for quite some time, but I'm looking for some one to point me in the direction for the instructions for the following 2 projects:
1) The jr legal pads that are mounted inside of the pocket folders
2) The spiral notebooks that have a transparent cover that have some sort of stamped cardstock inserted behind the transparent cover
Many thanks!

Any help out there? I've been searching the site - especially for the spiral notebook/clear cover project, but I'm not having much luck. I know some of you are really good at knowing just where to find these things. Special thanks to anyone who is able to help!

Julie Ann, if the notebooks are what I'm thinking the notebooks come with a clear colored plastic cover and some colored paper underneath. You can stamp on the clear plastic and the paper underneath. I got mine from a dollar store.
HTH.
Kathleen

I have made loads of the Jr. legal pads with Pocket folders. You get two per folder but they mount differently. Basically, you cut the pocket on the diagonal to make it easier to slip something into and to make a pattern I just laid the legal pad down and marked where I should score on the folder. There is about 1 inch of folder left over that is a scrap. I just mount the legal pad opposite the pocket. Sometimes the pad is attached to the left and sometimes to the right when it is opened up. Then I attach a ribbon around the outside and put a stamped piece over it on the cover to tie it shut. Let me know if you understand this and I could take measurements or photos or something.
Thanks for the help Laurel and Kathleen. I'm getting a better idea of how to do this - now to find the time! Ha! I'm hoping to make teacher Christmas gifts.

I don't know how many of the pads you are covering, but if it is alot and you don't want to do all the cutting, I sell a one-piece folio that folds to a front-pocketed cover. You just stamp them up and glue the pad on. You can see them at:
Thanks Annette, I'm going to save your site in my favorites for future reference. I bought the folders and notepads, just trying to figure out how to put them together. How do you attach the pad inside the folder? I've heard some just glue or tape it on for a 1 time use, but some have a way to make it so you can slip new pads in after you've used the first pad. Any suggestions?

I have a 3M Tape gun that is really heavy duty and has wider adhesive and I use it...it is like Mono Adhesive on Steriods! These pocket folders usually look worn by the time you use them up anyways! The way I figured it out was by taking my Jr legal pad and laying it on the open pocket folder where I would want it mounted. I left a little edge of folder, then rolled it on the narrow side and then laid it on its back...much like you might do when wrapping a package with wrapping paper to make sure you have enough. Then I used my bone folder to make dots where I would cut and score. Once I cut and scored one I used it as a template for the others. I have not been able to figure out who to post a picture for you yet...but I would snail mail you a folder if you'd like.
Thank you, Laurel. I like your directions. I think I have it figured out now, so I'm going to try some and see if they are "givable" for teachers gifts.
Thanks to all for your help and suggestions! Have a blessed day!

I have never done these covers, but I would think if it is something you want to keep to use over again, you could buy the self stick laminate sheets (available at walmart) and once you have them stamped, laminate them.
