I am new to stamping and have only used my stamps a few times so far. However, when I "scrub" the stamp on the Stampin' Scrub pad, a couple of the stamps have come apart. The adhesive layer stays attached to the wood block, but the rubber stamp separates from the adhesive. Is this normal? What am I doing wrong?
I had one do it recently first time I used it. My SU demo told me to use a little super glue or crystal effects. You could ask for an exchange if its in a certain time period. Others posted in another thread about this prob.
What stamps is this happening to?
This happened to my Happy Everything set. The word "birthday" is just so small, and I accidently scrubbed too hard a few too many times.
Did you make sure your stamps were mounted good? Did you press down when adhearing them?

I had this happen to an entire SU set -- my demo suggested that I take the stamp off all together (not the foam bit) and use the sheets of really tacking tape -- I stuck my stamp to the tape and cut around it then stuck it back onto the foam -- it worked really well for me.... Hope this helps... Kim
This is weird. I've never had this happen to a whole set. My retired classic alpha did this on a few letters but only after they had been mounted for about a year and used very often. I restuck them with sticky tape as others have done.
I've seen this happen before, unfortunately. It seems some sets just don't have enough glue between the rubber and foam. It also will sometimes happen if you have cut the rubber too small, and scrub too hard (don't ask me how often I've learned that one! )
If the stamps are new, get your demo to call Demonstrator Support - they should give you replacements. OR ... I just do the Crystal Effects trick.
ditto to letting your SU demo know! The other thing, it is recommended to use rubber cement as opposed to Crystal Effects simply because CE tends to make your stamp "hard", defeating the purpose of the foam backing. The rubber cement will keep is pliable!
I think another thing that can cause this to happen is to have too much liquid on the scrub and it gets under and around the adhesive on stamps that are smaller. I've had this happen at a workshop.
This happens to me occasionally too . . . it's usually those stamp sets that get warmed up from sitting on my porch while I'm at work.
I'm in Texas (southern part) and it gets really hot. I think once they heat up and re-cool some are just never the same.
I have had this happen when I don't have enough mist sprayed on my scrub pad and I go to clean my stamps. There is too much friction when it isn't wet enough.
When this happens, I just use a tiny bit of Crystal Effects and spread it lightly with the tip around the foam. I then put the stamp rubber side down and put something that is a little heavy on top to put pressure on the stamp so that when it dries it helps hold it together nicely. I don't have a problem with it coming apart again when I do that.
