Default Help me decide!

Okay.... I have 2 ideas floating in my head for a project for mother's day for my 5th graders to make. (We did the paper "pinecone" ornaments for Christmas presents.)
An art book that I have has an accordian book
or
A paper bag book

I wanted to incorporate writing memories about our mothers. I suppose the paper bag books would allow kids to have more room to put momentos, right? (Sitting here, I think that the paper bag book is the way to go!)

Any ideas on how to incorporate designer paper and about a paragraph of writing? I would probably have to have lined paper (or something with lines) so their writing actually looks nice.

Thanks in advance!

I like the paper bag book idea too. they could use spiral notebook paper cut to size and you wouldn't have to use a punch for the holes. take in some scrap papers if you have extra to use up. Maybe see if the teacher/school has scrap paper in the copy room or art class. also see if any businesses would donate for the cause. . . I live in a small town so I am not sure if the bigger cities or businesses would go for it. that's all my water logged brain can think of this morning. hope you get loads of great ideas!

I'm a mom of a 4th grader, and I think my preference would be the paper bag book. A few days ago in the gallery (which probably doesn't help you much - sorry) someone had made a paper bag book of her with her friends that she was missing (she had recently moved). It was beautifully done. I know that 5th graders probably wouldn't go that elaborate, but it would give you some ideas. My thought is to use punches, tags, etc., to make it easier for the students and use whatever scraps you have (if you're like me, there's no shortage of those!).

Good luck and have fun!
