Default Heat-n-Bond help!

I do a lot of machine applique, and use heat-n-bond to place my images. I accidently used my "good" iron to set pieces and got some sticky stuff on the plate. Anyone know how to get it off? I've tried googone and awesome but neither worked. TIA.

Try 4/0 steel wool and 90% rubbing alcohol. Good luck!

You could heat the iron on VERY LOW temp, only warm enough to melt but not enough to scorch and iron over some newspaper that will absorb the sticky. Worth a try.

Good luck!

You can also check a real sewing or hardware store.....I think there is a product to clean gunk off irons.

I have used Dritz iron-off Hot Iron Cleaner on my iron. (I quilt as well as stamp). You need to get on old terrycloth towel to wipe it off- the towel will be done for and it does smell but your iron will be free of the sticky stuff . I don't know how many times I have messed up and ironed the wrong side - so I am well acquainted with this problem!
