Question Has anyone tried...?

Hi,
Has anyone out there tried to use glossy photo paper instead of glossy cardstock? Are the results the same? I have a stack of photo paper that I'm not using much so I thought I could use it for stamping on ( if it stays still long enough right?!) I tried the wax paper resist technique but wasn't very successful ( not sure if it was me or the paper). I think I might try the Joseph's coat technique tonight, but I don't know if the results will be as good as the results I would get from SU glossy paper (I don't have any to compare with) So........ thus my question Has anyone tried to stamp on glossy photo paper and what were the results? Thanks you guys!!!!!

Yes, I have tried it when I was first getting started and didn't have a lot of extra money after the price of the starter kit. I had some extra photo paper sitting around and used it in place of the glossy. Will it work? Yes. Is there much of a difference? Yes! The colors are not as vibrant when you use photo paper as they are with the glossy cardstock and I don't think the photo paper picks up the color as well. Now I will only use the glossy. Speaking of which, I'm running low and need to order some more!

I love SU! glossy paper--you can't beat the quality of it. When I first started stamping, I bought cheaper glossy paper, and the results were pitiful. I now only buy SU glossy--it is worth every penny!

I have had success using Kodak Picture Paper, medium weight, soft gloss. The ink does dry faster on this than it does on the SU! glossy paper.

I've tried the photo paper as well and it doesn't seem to work as nicely as the SU glossy. Stick with the SU stuff!!

I did have one experience with my glossy kodak paper and a heat gun.... Let's just say things got a little hot! My image bubbled up and then burst into flame! It was about a quarter size melted spot! Oops!

That is funny! I would have flipped out if that had happened.
