Default Has anyone

Has anyone seen a decline in sales due to the economy? If so what can a sales person do to keep there sales in check?

I know this seems obvious, but the only answer to this question is find more customers. Regardless of whether a decrease in sales is caused by the economy or a decrease in interest among your customers, the only way to maintain and grow any business is to find new people to sell to.

Sales are down every where in the US. Keeping sales up is going to be pretty hard. Right now, this is a price driven market. There is a number at which anything will sell, unfortunately no one really knows this number.

The fact is that this is also an election year and the democratic candidate still hasn't been chosen. I know the election is still a ways away, but I always experienced down sales in election years - watch out for October, it will be probably be even worse.

The good news is that the value of the dollar is falling so if you are selling overseas, you may not necessarily see a decrease in sales.

I know 3 more stores that are closing in May due to not enough sales to cover the overhead and etc. I am saddened by this.
I would suggest as in an earlier post, Advertise to get new customers. Try to get new products that no one else carries. Try to do sales if you can. These 2 things are what gets me to a new store. I hope all works out for you.

Always ask for referrals. A happy customer is your best form of advertising and it's low cost too.
