Great American Scrapbook Convention in Arlington TX
I want to create a list of things to look for while I am there. There are no LSS near me only Joannes and Hobby Lobby so I purchase most of my things online. I ma excited to actually touch, and try out some new products
I recently bought some Faber Castell gellatos, Tim Holtz Blueprint stamps and Prima Doll stamps. Is there anything you can think of that I may want to look at? What would you reccommend?
Well, as a person who works there annually ... I pretty much recommend seeing 'everything'. Lots of scrappers come to stay in nearby hotels during the entire event, as there are a variety of classes. Stampers come as well, and so do stamping companies, such as Stampers Anonymous, Heartfelt Creations, The Stamps of Life, Inky Antics and more.
Like you, I love seeing the colors, products & papers up close & personal.
Besides .. it is a ton of fun being in the company of so many like-minded, crafty people .. they "understand". ;)
How much fun it would be to work there! I am afraid my budget could not stand the strain. I wish Ranger Ink would have a booth there. I love anything that is Ranger or Tim Holtz.
What booth do you work and I will come by and say hello?

Check out the GASC website itself ... including the vendor listing. Many times various vendors will post a need for help.
Also, GASC itself often asks for volunteers to assist in classes. Then you do get something in compensation ... not sure if it is free entry that day or what. ;)
The GASC in Arlington, TX is advertised more as a 'scrapbooking' event. However, check the vendor list each year, and you'll find there are always some stamp companies there. ;)
Hi y'all, TexasGrammy I am about a 2 and a half hour drive east of you and Kaspring I probably am so close that I could spit on you...but I wouldn't....Texarkana Texas here. Yay for Texas scrappers!!!!
Scrappy Kays is a large LSS in a little old east Podunk town and has some really awesome stuff. I went there this spring (on a trip to the doctors office in Tyler and just dropped in). I told my sweetheart that I was just looking. Riiight. The I said ok I will spend $25 here. They had a huge amount of Graphic 45. Then I saw the sookwang tape and I upped it to $50. Sweetheart was patient but I wlnt bring the "game warden" there next trip.
I did go the GASC and it was awesome! I watched Tim Holtz do a demonstration there, and he autographed one of his Sizzix dies. It was a really great time!
