After seeing all the womderful coloring work with the Prismas, I went out and purchased the Gamsol at my local art store. It came in a metal can. So what do I put it in to use it with the stumps? I have been unsuccessful in finding any kind of felt tip applicator bottle. Thanks for your help.
I pour a little into a separate plastic container; I find that a little goes a long way, so doesn't need to be a huge container...I acutally use the little plastic cups that the frosting comes in when you buy those Pillsbury cinnamon rolls that come in a tube - but whatever you have will work!
As far as what I use for an applicator - in the artists supply section of your local craft store you'll see a thing called a blending stump - it's basically a stick made of tightly wound paper. You dip it in the Gamsol and then smear your color around....it gives you a more precise result than, say, a QTip. They are reuseable since you can clean them off by rubbing them on a piece of sandpaper, careful to maintain the tip.
This is what works for me, but I'd love to hear what others think too!!
I ordered my Gamsol and stumps from Inky Antics and the Gamsol game in one of those "Bingo" bottles with the sponge tip. You can probably buy those types of bottles at Michael's or you can order them through Oriental Trading. What you do is lightly squeeze the bottle until the Gamsol wets the sponge tip and then you press your stump into the wet tip. Hope that helps!

Thanks so much for your help. I'm sure I can find a container around here somewhere. Thanks for the heads up on Oriental Tading Co. I hope I didn't throw away their catty. I never would have guessed that they would sell those bottles. I knew I would find the answers here. Thanks again.

Are you sure you have the artist grade 100% odorless mineral spirits? I admit I haven't personally seen the Gamsol brand in stores, but I know that the Houston Arts Mona Lisa brand and the Winsor & Newton brand do not come in metal cans. They come in smallish (4 oz. or 8 oz.) bottles - glass for the W&N, and white plastic for the Mona Lisa.
Just wanna make sure you have the right stuff!
Edited to add: Oh yeah, to answer your question, I just pour a little bit of the OMS into an old medicine dosing cup and dip my stumps into that.
I have the Odorless MS in a metal contaner as well from HL. I have these super long plastic eyedroppers I got from Sally's Beauty supply. I have one marked for Gamsol use. I just dip it in the can and release it into my little dish - no more spills like the first time.... LOL Plus, one dropper full is more than enough for a couple of cards.
For a dish, I use the little tubs from my Crystal Light.

I poured about two inches worth into a jelly jar with a good top, then just keep it sealed up on my worktable. It's there when I want to use it, and I just dip the stumps in it.

Ooohhh... I think I like that idea better than mine!! I'll have to try that!

I have mine in a bingo bottle w/the sponge tip too, just like Rubber Stamp Nut. I didn't get mine from Inky Antics, but bought mine in a craft store and then bought a bingo bottle from a dollar store, empited it out and put in my gamsol. It works great! I totally recommend this way ... no waste and I like that it's not totally exposed when you have it "open" like it would be in a jar or other container.
PH in VA...I bought a 16 oz metal tin of Gamsol 100% pure odorless mineral spirits. At the top of the can it says Gamblin Artist's Oil Colors, so I think it is the right stuff. I bought it at a store that carries supplies for artists (and stampers). I was wondering how to pour this without spilling any since it was so expensive. The droppers are a great solution. Heading out to Sally's Beauty Supply tomorrow. Thanks Palapala. What dollar store did you find the bingo bottles?
