Sigh. My 16-month old somehow got into my stamp room and pulled over my whole container of earth elements brads. I had only used 3 of them. And because I have a frieze carpet (modern shag for those of you who may not know what it looks like), it is going to take a humongous rescue effort to find 197 brads!

I read this somewhere - put a piece of pantyhose over the end of a vacuum hose - fasten on well with a rubber band or something. They vacuum up the brads - just pull them off (with the power still on) as they stick to the material.
I am sorry!!!Use a fridge magnet or any other magnet. It will help trap the brads. Another thing you can do is use a hand held vacumm. Empty it well before and put a small bag inside the canister. It will be easier to pick them up from the canister that way.

That is a BRILLIANT idea! I haven't heard that one before! It would also work great when one of my DD's spill my box of sewing pins. Thanks for the tip.
WOW!! I was just posting to vent, and here you ladies have some suggestions!! None of these even crossed my mind! They are building a house next door, and I know they have one of those magnets for picking up nails, etc. I think I'll go borrow it while they are at lunch!!

Yay!! Good luck with your brad hunt!!!
This might make you feel a little better........I was helping my friend (and fellow SCSer momof2stampers) move in June. I was moving boxes from the back of the truck to the front for the guys to haul into the house. A wall of boxes fell on me (I got out of the way in time), so I cleaned up all of that. One of the boxes that fell was a stamping box full of her stamp supplies. It had a Hodgepodge Hardware in it.......Surprisingly enough it survived the initial fall, only to have me pick it up to hand it to her and DUMP THE WHOLE THING OUT IN THE BACK OF THE TRUCK!!!!! Not fun to find/pick up all those little pieces in the back of a poorly-lit u-haul.....;)
