Walmart has discontinued the permanent Red Duck Rollers! I cannot live without them. I am used to paying about $8 for 4 of them. Any idea where I can get them for that price? If not, what is the alternative. HATE the snail/mono!! Too expensive for those teensy rolls and the stuff winds up on the roller 1/2 the time. What do you use?
OH NO!!! I know that I couldn't find them last time I was in there, but I just thought they are out of stock. Have you gotten official word that they are discontinued then? I hope someone has a source for us...I adore the DUCK!
The manager told me that Walmart was discontinuing carrying them. I have no other local source and they are MUCH more expensive online! I am breaking into a cold sweat. I go through about half dozen a month!
I was wondering about that because I had a hard time finding them there last time. My Walmart still had that pack a couple of weeks ago, but it was in a different spot. They also had them packaged individually (not as good of a deal though). The individual ones at my store were hanging up on a hook kinda near the staplers.
On another thread someone mentioned the "Adhesive Tech" brand from Wal-Mart. She said it was wonderful stuff. I bought it just last week, but haven't opened the package yet. (Trying to use up all the little bits of other stuff)
It's in the scrapbook section, and they are pretty good.
I just went to walmart today and saw the red duct adhesives. I think my walmart just started carrying them. I was thinking of getting them, but I didn't know if they would be good or not. I'll have to get some next time I go.
Ok, sorry but I hate mono multi. I hate wet adhesives. it leaks out over the edge of the paper and my hands get all icky. I think I'm the only one who hates this stuff!

[QUOTE=speale]Adhesive Tech sucks. It doesn't stick and it turns yellow.
I found that too. I tried it and it was good the first use then after that it would stick inside so that you couldn't even roll it, it does stick to the roller and turns yellow before you even apply it. I've never experienced any of those things with the SNAIL. I love the snail but hate the price (6.50 for refill in Canada). I tried finding tombow mono cheaper on e bay and it's not really worth it unless you are buying a lot. I've not found any online stores that has the permanent refills that ship to Canada. I was hoping the Adhesive Tech would be a cheaper alternative but it's no alternative - just cheap.

I use a thick tacky glue made by Scotch. It is called Quick Dry Adhesive. It doesn't buckle the paper and it HOLDS like no other adhesive I have ever used. I usually apply a thin line around the edge about 1/4 inch in and don't have it leak out the edges. I had a bottle that lasted over FOUR MONTHS!!!! And let me tell you I did ALOT of cards and Projects with it!!!!
I got mine from Inky Antics at their booth at a convention. Their site is www.inkyantics.com but I don't know if they have it listed on their site yet. I also know you can find this at Target but they only sell the smaller bottles there. Anyway, you might want to try it out and see what you think.
Thanks for the tip Keri! I will see if we have it here in town before I order it online. Staples carries alot of different brands now, will look there!

Here is a link to it online that shows what it looks like but Inky Antics sells a bigger bottle...but it looks just like that with the red and purple packaging. http://www.misterart.com/store/view/...y-Adhesive.htm
So when you go to Office Depot you will know what to look for. And it may even be carried by Walmart. I haven't looked.
I have gotten the Red Duck stuff at Joann's with a coupon making it about $7.80 for the four rolls. I do think it is the most economical, but my favorite is the 3L stuff in the red dispenser for $5.99 ($4.00 when 1/3 off at HL, $4.80 when it is 20% off at Meijer's).
I wondered why I had a hard time finding my duck multi-pack last week at Walmart. Thank goodness we just got a Joann Etc so I can continue my addiction. Thanks for the heads-up!
Amy
I can't help with this- but I will pimp my adhesive of choice. I love Judikin's Trio- the rolls are very long so the price is great- and you can have 3 different sizes of adhesive in one applicator so you don't have to search for different ones.
It sticks great and I've done test mailings where I mail in different weather (very humid, rainy, snowy etc) and so far all my cards have been recieved in one piece
Our JoAnn doesn't carry it either. Anyone know of any place on line to buy the red Duck rollers? I might even buy it in bulk and split an order with friends. I called my sister in another state to see if her Walmart still had it and as of last week the 3 Walmarts in her area all discontinued it too. I just feel sick! I hate wet glue of any kind and have not found any rollers at comparable price to replace this.
I, too, was heartbroken to lose my Duck supplier. I scrounged through the clearance section about a month ago, and I bought what they had left. I need to find an online source, too. Let me know what you find.

I love this adhesive! I found it at Target and it had a Try Me rebate on it, so I actually ended up getting it for free! A little does go a very long way!
