Fiskars Question
I broke down and bought a new paper cutter. I chose one from Fiskars that measures approx 6x12.5 without having to extend the arm (which measures to 14 inches.) I don't know the name of the cutter and could not find a number on it by which to identify it. It has a white base and orange corners/arm/blade if that helps anyone.
While cutting with it I noticed it has a wire in the area where the blade is. As my luck would have it, I have now "shaved" the wire for lack of a better description. The wire is still there, but it is tangly at the bottom of the wire, like I shaved part of the wire and clustered it at the bottom.
Now it will not cut well. Can the wire be replaced? Do I ned to get a new cutter that doesn't have the wire? It is fairly new to me, but not new enough to still have the receipt. It was pricey, $25-30.00 and I hate to think I have ruined it. Can anyone provide tips on use or information if the wire is fixable?

I just googled Fiskars paper cutters and I'm not sure which one you have. How about trying to contact Fiskars and see if they can help you. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I would contact Fiskars and see if they will send you a replacement. It may just be a bad cutter.

I bought a Fiskars cutter that was defective, so I called customer service. They said send e mail, attach photo of the problem, and mailing information, and they sent me new replacement, had it in less than two weeks.

Yes, definitely contact Fiskars. They have a great customer service department and should send you a new one.

From your description you have the same cutter as I do. I've had it for over 2 years and the wire guide is perfectly intact and not frayed. You likely got a defective one. Let us know what happens!

Yes, email Fiskars. They are VERY good with customer service!!! Years ago I had one of their old style cutters and could not get a straight cut. They replaced the piece that holds the blade and when that didn't fix the problem they replaced the entire cutter. As soon as they can out with the "sure cut' ones (which is what you have), I bought one. Wonderful product; wonderful company!!!

I have the same trimmer as you describe. If Fiskars does nothing to help just clip the wire/string off at both ends. I don't think it will interfere with the cutting part and personally I always felt that it was a pain in the neck anyway.
