and it's a fail. I don't know what it is, but each time I come in here, I get interrupted, distracted, mess up my project or all of the above. Today was all of the above. I fought through the first obstacles then stamped my almost done project upside down.
We just moved into this house a month or so ago and I'm still getting acclimated. But I was having creative challenges like this before we moved too. Any advice? Do any of you go through this too?

Yes. I have started an art journal to "Play"- then it doesn't matter if it upside down because it is mine. I find the more I play the better my other projects turn out. I have been trying to consistently do one challenge a week as well. I am hoping to up this but I am doing this to push myself.
Also one of the best way of making myself want to create is to organize (or clean up). Because I would rather play so the ideas start flowing.
I also set myself goals. ATM I am need to get 4 birthday cards done in the next few days (more likely couple of weeks) and then concentrate on Christmas.
I'm having trouble with creating at the moment as I am waiting to move into my very first, brand new craft room in about 8 weeks, which of course I will then have to kit out. Until then I don't have the will to find everything I need to start a project as I have so much 'stuff' stored away in hard to get at places and am just waiting.....
Sorry to hear you are having creativity issues. Stress can do that to you and moving is one of the top 5 most stressful things that can happen in your life.
I have been thru the creative slump and all I can tell is to relax since you can't force it. That can in fact make it worse. If all you end up with is a shoe box full of bits and pieces, it's okay. Keep at it, eventually your muse will want to return and make complete projects out of those bits.

I've been admiring the art journal trend for a looong time, I find them so brave and raw that I don't know if I am ok being vulnerable that way. BUT it definitely helps me to warm up so I always have scrap paper nearby for that purpose.
Christmas is only 13 weeks away, I must get started on my cards.

How exciting! Creative limbo is so frustrating. Unpacking will be fun! Just do one box at a time though. Trust me. LOL!

Thank you so much. I found your words very helpful and calming for some reason. Moving was a tremendous strain on us. We broke down into balls on the floor crying and lost tempers at each other a few times, which I'm sure the new neighbors loved hearing. It's ok to laugh now, we survived. LOL!!
