Exclamation dried out stamps

Hi,
I have been away from stamping for 14 years. I live in Bali, now that I want to do a come back, I find that most of my rubberstamps which I removed from the wood ages ago have dried up.
How can I make them softer again?
Thanks, Jogry

Hi, I don't know if really dried out rubber can revitalize, but for rubber stamps that I was concerned with getting hard I used a mixture of glycerine and water and that seemed to work to soften them. I put that on the rubber and let it sit rubber side down on a plastic tray. I've also heard some use olive oil, but oil and rubber aren't supposed to get along, so not sure about that. Judikins sells a great rubber stamp cleaner and conditioner you might want to look into. JoAnn's sells that. I hope this helps.

Default hard stamps

Thanks so much for the quick reply. Has anyone heard of using eucalyptus oil?

Here are a few threads you can read for ideas... I would think eucalyptus oil would be too strong and might break down the rubber instead of softening. :/
