Default donut

Here is my donut card. It was fun but a little hard to punch through all those layers. I had my DH help me with that. Thanks for the binus challenge.

HELP....I'm addicted to donuts! Here is one for my neighbor's birthday tomorrow. It is intimidating to post cards here when I don't have the time to really do a terrific job embellishing but that is how life is these days! And, of course, the Dazzling Diamonds are not sparkling. TFL

Here is my very first attempt at a challenge ever.

I used So Saffron and Kraft cardstocks with versamark and Close to Cocoa inks, the Simply Said and Linen Background stamps and a 1 3/8" punch

This is the 2nd challenge I've ever participated in... this is such an easy card to make... and FUN to boot. And, I've found the 'perfect' application for some wonderful ginormous snowflake brads.

I made a second one for a baby gift with a brown and pink theme. But, I didn't take a picture before I gave it away tonight. I think I could easily become addicted to the challenges LOL

Default Donuts disguised as Holiday Gift tags

I've been noodling for some time what in the world I wanted to do for next month's Holiday Gift Tag swap... when BINGO! why not do donuts!!! It's not a 2-second tag, but I think would be great for that 'somebody special'.

Here's A donut disguised as a Holiday Gift Tag.

Default Ho Ho Ho, it's a trio of donuts

... can't let those donut holes go to waist... er waste.
Here's another donut card using donut holes from my previous donut card.
I like it visually. Structurally and practically is doesn't work well for me... there's not enough inside surface area to write or stamp anything and the 'opening' piece of the card feels 'flimsy' because so much paper has been punched away.

Here's a triple serving of donuts.

I don't get the hole. Is the hole punched with a bigger punch than the image that gets attached? If you make it the same size you can't see a black "edge" to the donut part. Help?

Does this info help at all? It's copied from here
Directions:
1) Cut 4" square card out of the new Cool Carribean cardstock
2) Stamp with new Aida Cloth Background using Versamark ink
3) Lightly affix a 1/2" black strip across the front of card
4) From the top left corner, punch all the way through the ENTIRE card with the new 1 1/4" circle punch (yes, you're making a big donut hole through the entire card!) It is best to turn the punch upside down so you can see the black strip through the punch window.
5) Remove the punched out pieces, peel apart.
6) Mount the blue card onto a slightly LARGER black square, 4.25"
7) Stamp one of the punched out blue circles with Circle of Friendship stamp of choice, using black ink. Trim around edges with scissors. Attach blue circle to inside of card, with Stampin' Dimensional so it pops up!
9) Stamp Greeting of choice on card front. We are using the new Happy Everything -- because it has options!!
10) Finish with silver mini brads if desired. Remember to stamp your envelope!

Yes the point of her design was to have a black edge around the image, but you will have a black square or circle if you use a punch on the very back of the card.

You could also punch a black circle and place it under the image on the inside and have nothing on the back of the card.

Here’s a fun challenge for anyone that would like to try something new. It’s called a Donut card and Vickie has easy directions to follow.

Feel free to change the card size, color and images to suit you. Since Vickie’s card is a pretty simple layout I didn’t draw up a sketch.
It will be fun to see what the SCS players can come up with.

Vickie says: I named this the “Donut Hole” card because we punch entirely through the whole thing!! A very quick & simple card!

Links to more example cards here:

vmaduzia one

vmaduzia two

StampOwl

Cambria

The directions are for Vickie's card in the attachment. I also have some tips on punching through layers in my card description.

Remember to stamp your envelope![/QUOTE]
