The scenerio.......stamp room is entirely in a mess.....paper scraps everywhere, pads everywhere. The available stamping space is down to a few square inches. Sooooo, I spent quite a while cleaning the mess up. Now, I've got my nice big stamping space back, all the paper pieces either filed or thrown and all the pads in their spot. NOW.......I go down there and stare and can't seem to get going again. Maybe I shouldn't have cleaned it up!!

It just happened here today! I has so much stuff to stamp that I covered every space and even had to move to the floor for a flat cutting surface. Now I have it cleaned up and I wont want to get that mess out again for awhile! But it was fun while it lasted
Yes!! I had brought a ton of stuff out to our living room and covered the coffee table. I made a few cards and then my DH got sick of it being there. Lol. So I moved it back to my craft room and haven't made anything since.
That happens to me too. The messy table. I end up having a pile of stamps that need to get cleaned too. You cannot believe how much I hate cleaning up my messy table. And now that I moved all my stuff back to the basement I don't *have* to clean up after myself. I told DH I need another table down there. He just looked at me...I do prefer to start stamping with a clean table though, and stamps, just so I see what I have.
Happens to me all the time -- get cleaned up and reorganized then I don't touch anything until I "have" to make a card for b'day or something. Then the tiger is out of the cage and it will be a mess for quite a while!

I'm trying today to clean up a year of mess and collecting "stuff". Inlaws are coming next Monday for 3 weeks and I have to find where to put the beds back in the guest room. Sure hope they don't want to use the closet!!
Happens to me ALL.THE.TIME!!! It will probably happen to me tonight... I had to clear some stuff out of there last Friday (took it to my mom and dad's house for the weekend thinking mom and I might do some projects but we didn't) so my table is cleared off now. I have to alter a photo album tonight. Do you think I'll have any scrappy ideas? Nope. I'll have scrappers block so bad.... :( I can already tell.

There must be something in the air because I sat at my table for an hour today and couldn't come up with anything! My table is semi-clean, but I think my problem is I have a bunch of new stuff and I want to use it all and I don't know where to start!
Maybe pick out your favorite stamp set and either look for some ideas on here or do one of the sketch challenges or something, just to get your creativity back!
Altho a messy studio can "slow" me down in executing a project, it appears to be conducive to my actual creative thinking processes to work in utter chaos.

Did it all up last week, could not do a thing! Made a mess this week and have been stamping ever since! I think sometimes neatness gets me started? Mess keeps me going! LOL

Rarely ... but only 'coz I hardly clean up / organize my stuff (but I am in the process of doing it now because one table is now needed by my hubby - Boo Hoo - but only 'coz it causes work - I don't like the table. And a desk with tons of cubby holes has to be completely emptied and there is no substitute storage for the things kept in it so I have to sort the stuff into what is "donatable" what I MUST HAVE / CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT and what I can give away (locally; the donation box is for someone on SCS collecting scrapbook supplies for female soldiers).
My craft area does have some not-yet-used storage space but I was hoping they'd be filled with more stamp sets!
I should be working on it now so DH can do his part when he is off on Friday (esp. since I want to hang out with my friend and will be spending the night 'coz we're going to an expo SAT which means more things to find space for!)
I have a piece of Masonite (at least that's what DH thinks its called) that I covered with freezer paper and several sheets of SU Grid paper. I try to always have that area clear of clutter so last minute cards can be created.
I guess I'm just a messy at heart. I love clean areas but.......welll....you know! I have a deadline for some submission cards and just can't seem to get them going. I seem to have a harder time when it is something that has to fall into a certain category than just creating off the top of my head.
Sure glad I'm not alone though! ;-) At least the stamp room is in the basement and no one sees it but me!

I have to clean up my area every time I'm finished. My area is out in the open, it's small and I have 4 kids plus 2 I babysit for. If it's not cleaned up it's just a free for all! Can't have that.
I've got it worse. I did a few layouts this weekend and I have a card swap coming up. I made the template card a couple of weeks ago but today, after I cleaned up my weekend mess, I just could not bring myself to even do the cards that I need to make for the swap. Arrrggghhhh. I am going to try again tonight. Just keep going. hehee. It will happen and then you will be in chaos again.
Funny how it works that way. I cleaned up my table Monday and had a hard time getting going, but managed yesterday to make a dozen thank you notes for some friends who's son passed away. Once those were done, I tidied up and was unable to get anything to come together for more thank you notes for my dear sil. Still hoping something will come to me tonight since tomorrow is a full day running...... to clean or not to clean then, is this the question?? :-)

It is frustrating isn't it!! Seems whenever I clean up I not only lose my mojo I lose my energy as well and then get mad that I wasted a perfectly good afternoon with the kids in school!! So my solution is not too clean that often--only when I absolutely have to because I have no more room. and in between I just shut the door--if it's really bad I lock it so no one can go in there by mistake--I would be mortified if anyone saw it in all it's glory LOL!!
I used to go through that too. I'm a messy stamper. Now, I don't clean entirely, just enough to clear a space to stamp. Oh, I'll really straighten up good if I know someone is coming, but we have an upstairs bedroom that is our computer/craft room, so not too worried. When I start losing things under a pile, then I know it's time to put a few things away. You only have so much time, why spend it all cleaning?

Yep, just tried to clean my table up, swept the floor, set up another 6 foot table, 4 more chairs because 3 women are coming to stamp tomorrow. But when I clean I lose my mojo or something. The old saying is true "organization and crafts does NOT belong in the same sentence." LOL
I DO clean my stamps as I use them because I NEVER use anything but water to clean them. Been stamping for 10 years plus & was a SU semonstrator for 5 of those but I've always used water. Works for me & it's handy. I never run out. LOL

Ahhhhhh! Your a girl after my own heart. I've just used water for most of my cleaning for 20 years! Even my oldest stamps are just fine! I did make a card today and uploaded. Hopefully with a little bit of mess in the room I can get it going again!

When I saw this stamp by Luni (p-019) I had to buy it. I think it will never see ink but it will be prominently displayed - underneath a creative mess!
It is a quote by Milne:
