Default Do you think "Summer by the Sea" will retire?

I'm wondering if I should get Summer by the Sea. It's a great deal! I'm a demo and I'm wondering if I could do it justice by coloring it good enough to make people interested in the set!!

So, I know it was new with this catalog (our Gallery said 2004/05 IB&C) - is it popular? Do you think it will retire??

I ordered it and all the others. Even if it does retire, you will be able to find someone who wants it later on. I sell/trade all my retired sets except for about 3-so I think even if you get it and later want to sell it or trade it if it retires you will be able to.

I have been eyeing it for a while, so I figured for that price I should go for it!

It was a popular mini set, so I doubt it will retire. I've said it before, it would be a crummy way to thank us and our customers by selling us soon to be retired sets.

On the SU website it says that 5 of the most popular sets from the catty and 1 new set ('05-'06) will be 1/2 off in march.

I'm not a demo, but I don't think that they would retire 5 of their most popular sets. JMO

I'm ordering all 6 sets...shhhh-don't tell DH! LOL

Yes, those were holiday sets.

I have a sinking feeling that it will be retired. It is too similar to Seaside Sketches. I love the set and if I didn't have it I would order it just to have for myself. Can't go wrong at that price.

Nope, I don't think any of these will be retired. The only one that has been around for a while is Lovely As A Tree. If they retire that one, they better come out with something VERY similar!

I think this is another great promotion just to say thank you to us as demos and customers. SU! ROCKS!!!

I don't think it will retire.

A great way to "color" is with poppin' pastels, especially with this set! (Description is in the Technique Booklet, too, so it's even great for beginners)

I think, for the price, why quibble? It's just like what the above poster said. If it does get d/c'd, you can always sell or trade it. I think the Special prices are pretty....special!

I have a question about this set. Is the person sitting on the boat with their feet in the water a man or a woman? Could it be either depending on how you colored them?

I was thinking a woman because the arms and feet looked too delicate to be a man after I looked at the couple stamp, and the pose seemed feminine to me.

I use it as a woman...

My only problem with this sale is that I already HAVE most of them... :(

Thanks. I think the short hair threw me. I looked again at the feet after you said that and it makes more sense now that it's a female.
