Default Do stamp companies usually have "after Christmas" sales?

I've been a LOOOONNGGGG time buyer/user of Stampin Up. In my mind, that's basically the only company that's ever existed. LOL

UNTIL THIS YEAR!!!

I have branched out to other stamp companies this year and I'm surprised at how much I love them. Lawn Fawn is becoming a favorite. Love a lot of the stamps from GinaK's website. I have bought some from Sunny Studios, Mama Elephant, Lawn Fawn, Gina K, My Favorite Things, etc. I could go on and on. ***side note, I only do Christmas cards with the occasional birthday or sympathy card. But boy has this totally opened my eyes. I've always been the type of person that once I find something I like, I usually put my blinders on and stick with it. No need to look elsewhere. Ugh, look at all I've been missing out on.

Anyhow, I have been glued to the SimonSaysStamp website and have a list 10 miles long of Christmas stamps and dies and other things that I'd love to get. I told the family and my secret santas that I want gift cards to them and Gina K for Christmas. So I'm curious if a website like that (that sells multiple companies) ever runs an after Christmas sale with their Christmas stuff, like regular stores do? Or maybe the individual stamp companies themselves? Any insight?

Not that I remember seeing, but I haven't really paid that much attention, to be honest. I do enough damage on Black Friday and Cyber Monday to hold me over for quite a while...

First, dont hold me responsible for what happens after I do this LOL

It varies. Some will. The only thing to do is sit and wait. It could happen either right away or sometime in January to promote sales when people are feeling very "shopped out". Gen suppliers often want to make space for new product coming out...and they will heavily discount product that was slow for them...doesnt mean it is bad product. Never know when that will happen but I have seen it Jan-March as they clear the decks for what will debut with CHA2017 (the big industry convention) in January.

You might want to keep an eye on sites that always discount like Oozak and carries a lot of companies. Really nice guy and they just launched Craftzak and there could be even more on that site-which will be massive with all kinds of crafts. Another one is Susana's Custom Art and Design-very nice lady. https://www.susanascustomartandcarddesign.com/

More would be Scrap Mart for dies. Just Rite often has Spellbinder dies on sale, etc. 123 Stitch runs weekly sales all the time and often have some small discount on many companies. SOMETIMES Amazon might have a good deal or might be the only one to have older stuff anymore...or may have international companies. I tend to go to them more for supplies like CS.

You might also want to take a look at Gina Marie dies. Always a very good price and can be very similar to other product. *** GINA MARIE DESIGNS *** | Scrapbook Outlet

Beware Joann's. They seem to mark up higher than mfgs so that 40% off isnt really as good as it sounds.

While I like SSS's own stuff...I usually dont buy other companies' stuff from them b/c the prices (to me) are high and the sales are often not so great (like 15%) However...you cant get their stuff anywhere else. So I wait for 20% sales and try to cherry pick what I really really want. The exception there would be the time limited stuff.

Keep an eye here in our selling thread. People are always clearing stashes and while there is always a lot of SU, there can be ANY company showing up.

Bottom line...like everything else...one has to do their homework.

Also...my personal advice is to let things live on your wishlist for awhile. It is very common to either decide later you dont actually like it THAT much....or to see another one from another company you like even better. Six months is a good time frame imo.

It seems to me, that the being emailed half to death with sale ads seems to end by Christmas... I am thinking the better deals happen before the holiday because, they know people get gift cards for gifts?

I recommend that you get on the email list for all the sites you like, and they will send notification of all Specials. This year I found the best around Black Friday and Cyber Monday (not just limited to those days).
Simon Says Stamp had 30% off their own brand for a day, then other brands with different discount after that, maybe 15% (not enough to make me buy).
Check out WPlus9, Lil' Inker, Right at Home, Concord & 9th, Taylored Expressions, Unity, ScrapbookPal.com, Scrapbook.com.
You never know when they will throw a surprise sale for their email followers.

Sign up for Viva Las Vegasstamps. They usually have a post-holiday sale. Crafty Secrets used to have a Boxing Day sale, but they haven't been as active so they probably won't this year.
