Hey ladies! I need some crafty advice. I am celebrating my one year divorceary with a party! I have a few ideas that i found online from printed cards, but i want to make my invites! Going to a piano bar to celebrate, and here are the themes/ideas i have so far, but not really sure for a direction on any of them and hoping you crafty ladies can give some advice.
I will survive
free as a bird
divorce rocks (rock n roll/guitar/stars, etc)
celebrate freedom (flag or a motorcycle???)
no more chickens (insert boy chicken name in place of chicken)
wedding ring in a coffin (close the lid on my marriage)
So long sucker.
I'm liking the chicken idea and the sucker the best out of all of them, so what do you think I could do from there???
I Will Survive is an awesome song! I'd play it regardless of the theme you pick!!
I do like the sucker one....you could incorporate that into your invites and favors!! It would also work good on a cake....or have a lollipop shaped cake.
hahaha!! hahahaha!!!! hahahahaha!!!!! That was good!
Thanks!
You know, I do like the idea of "So long sucker" in a lollypop shape (maybe his picture? LOL) or maybe somehow use suckers as part of the invites?
Or "See you later Alligator" with you throwing the alligator out to sea.
OR a "Survivor" theme of some sort.
Gosh, there are so many great possibilities! Regardless of what you go with, I hope you have a GREAT time and are enjoying your singledom!

When I was stationed in Germany I watched a local girl throwing china off the 3rd floor apartment and laughing as she saw it smash on the cement below. I was later told she was having a divorce party and getting rid of everything they got for wedding gifts. I probably wouldn't have done that, cuz I liked my gifts. My personal favorite was my third and final divorce...when I knew it was bad, I blew through not one but two of his 401Ks.....hehehehehe and I lost 200 pounds of sorry fat, and I made him pay for the divorce.

i was thinking 'Hes still not out of the doghouse' LO with doghouse cards.... but how to work these ideas into a Piano Bar? hmmm
I dunno, but after a year, isnt it great that the toilet seat is always DOWN!? ;)
Once my divorce is final I want to do a party. I have a stamp with a woman shooting the scale. I think I might use that 'I lost 135 pounds' line with that stamp for my invites. Thanks for the idea.
Congrats on surviving the first year. Is life back to somewhat normal yet?
I love this set by There She Goes called LOL Taglines. The setiment perfect for your invites is "If you love something, let it go. If it comes back, set it on fire" and it has a cute image of a heart with flames on it It made me giggle!

You all are awesome! I am loving the ideas! I looked all over on SCS gallery, and there's just not much out there!
Life is back to normal. I hate that it ended, but when it's bad, there's no use in staying for sake of saving the marriage. Happiness and safety won out!
Thanks for all the comments and well wishes. Keep on posting the ideas. I foresee many more of these divorce cards to come.
I was thinking...If marriage sucks, divorce rocks! and having that on a cake with rock candy suckers all around. hehehe....
My daughter was recently divorced. She was such a mess over it and she was the one who wanted it. Anyway I made her a congrats card. She needed a laugh.

I don't like the chickens one, or so long sucker or any of the ones that focus on HIM. To me it is better to focus on you and having a new start than to be negative and focus on taking a shot at him.
So I like the divorce rocks idea, or the I will survive.
